Just woke up this morning, to hop on my motorbike to work, and some BEEEEEP BEEEPING BEEEEPER has stolen it, I've given the police a call. :(

Anyone know if their good at tracking down things like this? All they asked over the phone was its plate number, model and colour, how can they find it by that?

Feel like crying, I had only had the bike for 2 months, was my lil baby. :'( :( :( :(

Sad fact. If it's not a "special" bike, like tomahawk or a custom harley etc, it's only likely to be found in three situations:

A: The biker gets pulled over for speeding or something similar.
B: The bike is used in criminal activity of more serious note.
C: It's parked in a bush or any other "uncommon" place.

Bikes are easier to find, but in general, with all the nicking going on, the police have their hands full with more "serious" crimes.

Hope it sorts out, if not, hope you got kickaasset insurance.

EDIT: Oh, out of curiosity, what is the bike? Lisnce plate and all, for the people that might see it. Fat chance that any forum peeps will see it, but long shots make good drunks.

Its not so much the money, its the freedom they've taken awy from me which angers me the most. :(

What else can I do in the future? it was locked up to a ring in the ground with the column look on it. :(

Crap to be perfectly honest. They wont be actively looking for it. If they come accross abadoned vehicles or accidents the number plates are checked. But that's about it.

If they do find it, do not collect it and ride it home. Phone the insurance company first. get them to collect it and check for damage etc. Once had a car stolen and the police called the next day to say they had found it in a Private Car Park belonging to a company. They said I had to remove the vehicle as quickly as possible. Which I did. Unfortunately, the car had been stripped out, Hi Fi, fixtures and even the spare wheel had been removed. Car had also been thrashed badly and the engine had to be reconditioned.

When I tried to claim on the insurance they said I could'nt becuase I had driven the car back home! Took me two years to get any money out of the bastards! Had to go through the Insurance Onwards Men (sp.?).

They'll complete some paperwork but gotta level with ya bud - the chances of them going out of their way specifically to look for it are less than zero.

Sorry to hear of your loss but hope your insurance will kick in

Im no expert but i think all they will do is enter the details onto the comper and hope one of the cars with the number plate reader drives past it, but from experiance they will give you a crime number right away to start your insurance claim with.

Fucking sucks, i know how you feel :(
Chances are if they went through all the trouble to break a column lock it wasnt just kids messing about, and it has probably been sold overseas already, had my old Ducati 996 stolen, that had a £120 D-lock attaching it to a clamp bolted to the floor and Disc brake clamp on the front wheel :( Professional job.

Best bet is to stick a smelly moth eaten canvas cover over it with some made up East German bike name written in cracked old letters .
You can get one's that let you put a cable through eye-holes round the bottom so it can't be easily removed, no theif would give it a second look.

Oh and if the hand-wringing pussies in charge of law and order stuck the fukers who steal in jail for 5yrs for knicking your bike and made him buy you a new one and pay for taxis till you get it then maybe it wouldn't have been pinched in the first place.

I don't know what to do tbh, I'm definately going to claim on my insurence for my current, not sure if I should go do my big boy bike test, and get a 500cc +, I don't think another 125 will be the same as my baby. :(

the police are shit... in 6/10 cases they dont even send people round to take statements about the buglary because of the lack of man power and the number of forms they have to fill out.

Dont expect to see you're motorbike again unless someone finds it burnt out or abandoned on the side of the road.

I have several friends who's had their vehicels of different kinds stolen and returned, so don't despair just yet.

A mate even got his car back with 4 brand spanking new tires on it that the thieves put on it. They put his old worn-out tires in the trunk. :p

Actually I got my 750 trailly back, it was picked up from the path carried over my car and put in van, 3 weeks later the Police raided the warehouse and rang me to say they had it, I went down with the keys signed a form and rode it home.

You should have seen the stuff in the compound they had got out of this warehouse, Porsches, speedboats, Jetski's ,Seadoo's, Quads ,Motorcrossers, big road bikes, must have been a million quids worth of vehicles.

Theiving scally twats probably got paid fook all to rob it all :twak:

My housemate got his brand new mini nicked!

Purely his own fault mind you.

One sunday night he went to bed leaving outer porch door shut but big inner wooden door wide open.
Some one must have been walking by late at night, saw the inner door open and decided to give it a go.
They forced the outer door and went around the ground floor while the housemate was asleep upstairs.
Took a work laptop (we got a better one back :) ) and took all the stuff off the kitchen worktop - wallet, keys etc. Then shut the door and left.
On the keys was the key to his mini so the cheeky thief then got in my housemates new mini and drove off lol.
What a shock my housemate got in the morning!

Ironic though, the only person that got stuff nicked and lost out on it was the tit who didnt shut the front door.

Police did finger printing and whatnot but the car has not been seen since.

I hope the police find your bike!

lol my bf left his keys in the car door overnight of his old car when we lived in boscombe (which is probably the scummiest place in the south) woke up in the morning and it was still there.

tbh its a bad sign when no one wants to nick your car (mind you it was about 200 years old with more rust than metal)
