Polearm question.

Lo @ all,

I have a armswoman (lvl34 at the moment) specced with
25 slash
25 shield
28 polearm
12 parry
(can be sligthly different)

When i do polearm and use a trust polearm it does louzy damage.
I thought polearm uses the best spec (in my case slash)

Anyone can give me some more insights?

Skill determines damage range of weapon

slash for slah polearms
thrust for thrust polearms
crush for crush polearms

Sounds quite natural to me, as it is the same with two-handed weapons. Use a slash polearm and you should be fine.

Slash determines minimum damage, polearm determines maximum.
So in theory they both have the same potential, however on average the slash will outperform.

If I remember correctly, the Halberd is unique in that it uses your highest spec. The Halberd is itself a Slash weapon and allegedly the best melee weapon in all three realms.


I hope that's true, because I'm training my Armsman in thrust. So, I can use the Halberd and '1h Thrust + shield' at higher levels.
