Poker Movie - Rounders

Just started watching this looks pretty good.

Matt Damon is grinding his way through Law school but appears like he's decided to bring his whole bankroll to the table to try and get enough to go to Vegas.

The theory looks pretty sound about no limit low to medium stake plays. Talks about Doyle Brunson unlike the embarassing coverage Casino Royale gave the game

Rounders (1998)

Worth a viewing so far Gamah.

I liked the Oreo fella (in lots of films), also the bit where the Oreo fella asks Matt Damon if when beating Jonny Chan or whatever the world number 1 is, he replies "you not what, i cant remember"!

Just leave it at that, 100% at that, and it's ok

I think you'll agree when i say that in no shape, form, hint or even a wiff of cheating should ever, never, in any circumstance be used in any game. Especially poker.

Nope but it's interesting to do at home with a deck of cards.

I like the trick where you pick a card, then the trickster takes it back shuffles or something then starts turning over the cards in the deck one by one. Eventually you see your card turned over ontop of the others. The trickster then says "I bet the next card I turn over will be yours, bet etc..". You think it's in the bag as yours was just turned over and hes gonna turn the next one from the deck. After you foolishly agree he simply turns your card face down leaving the deck untouched.

I could have lost alot to that.

I actually like a trick that's done to tricksters, made one go really "Durr...?" with a particular one.

When they ask to pickup a card, pick two(without him noticing ofcourse).
Palm the one he thinks you took(or just either one).
Put the one back in the deck.

Wait as he does this and that and flips and flops and when he asks all smirk like "Is THIS your card?" show him the one you have and say "Nope, this one is though."

Well especially cruel(read; fun) is when you know they use the decks bottom card as a marker to see which card you took. They basicly don't know anything else except that the bottom card is a particular one.

When asked to pick a card, take a card and also take the bottom card(again without noticing), hide the bottom card he uses for a marker and return your card.

He'll be shuffling and searching for his marker for ages, and while he's busy with that and really confused and concentrating, put the marker card in his pint/anywhere
