I have asked this on another forum and got nowhere so lets see if FH helps.

I have got the first Ricky Gervais show off Audible.co.uk, basically its a podcast. I want to either convert it(unlikely due to the protection)or somehow record it so it is in another format so I don't have to sit in front of my PC to listen to it. Also Samm loves Karl Pilkington(off the show) and she wants to listen to it so we both want to sit in my front room and just listen to it.

I did get a recorder(Soundtap)that records stuff to a folder in mp3 format as it plays but this eventually didn't work/cocked up.

I did hear that the iTune thingy has been cracked, is this true? Am I allowed to ask that here?

Any help appreciated and it will result in a picture of me in Samm's pants.

The Soundtap way is also real time recording, the Ricky Gervais show is over 6 hours so that is also a ball ache.

Well, it depends on the format of the audio file. The Podcast is just the distribution and the audio can be any of AAC, WMA, MP3… Anyway, if it's AAC (.m4a) and has iTunes DRM then you may be able to convert it to unprotected AAC using Hymn. If it's WMA then I'm less sure.

Its in aa format (Audible Audio) and will only play in either iTunes or the Audbile player.

This Hymn seems pretty decent but it won't do this particular file. Maybe I should just go grab it off iTunes and pay again, got it off Audible in the hope it would be easier to mess with.

Thanks so far Shovel.

I use a piece of sofware called Replay 7.0, use it to record/download online media ( it finds URL's with media it can record) Not saying it will work, but it's worth a shot (I don't think it's free software though, sorry) I got it from a mate who found it on a cd.
