are u on win me? only i am and i get that sometimes, but only if i try to re-enter a game i have lost connection from.
restart (game not pc) fixes it.if u have more problems i'd suggest a re-install i'm afraid

h3p, the only thing you could do is reinstall win98 (or upgrade to win2k if ur pc allows).

If you copied it from another machine it might be worth deleting all the config files and letting quake2 create news ones.

The PC you copied it off might have different GL, or some other settings which your PC doesn't like.

did you delete the existing installation before you installed it?

you may have bad configs making reference to different graphics modes that your grahpics card doesn't support.

also you may have incorrect opengl32.dll's in your quake folder or something similar.

yeah, i deleted everything and installed again. i dont really understand why it started doing this. i had been playing it for well over a year with no problems. still wont work even after a reinstall. :(
