Pluto is no longer a planet

Apparently pluto is no longer classed as a planet. Its been stripped of its title. Now we have only 8 planets in our solar system. All textbooks and wallcharts are now out of date lol

Yeah but at the same time, we're getting new planets. Like Xena, the one behind pluto and some of the moons on jupiter are gonna be classed as planets.

So basicly we're not loosing a daughter, we're gaining her fat twin sisters too.

It seems like they can't make up their minds what a planet is and what isn't. Dunno about you lot, but I was quite comfortable with little pluto as a planet. And what are these imposters that they're calling planets now ? Are they extending the size of the solar system to fit bigger rocks in ? Seems like the sort of bullshit reorganisation the British Labour government would do lol

Its kinda difficult to define a planet. The easiest is "an object orbiting a star"
like our planets do but i think there are 2 factors Pluto dosnt have.

1. Ith as a very elliptic orbit (none of the bigger planets have)
2. Its smaller then some of the moons orbiting other planets.

imo you cant define planets and moons by size. A moon is a natural staellite/object orbiting an object(planet) ,who orbits a star.

I think Pluto was removed from the planet list because of its range from the sun and elliptic orbit, many astroids have these elliptic orbits and a huge range. So "if pluto are allowed at the party then all the other astroids must be"

i think this was probbly for the best, they are inventing more and more powerful telescopes and things to see planets further and further away. The time this all was sorted out was invitable really, and now there is a pretty specific set of guidelines which constitute a planet
