I bought a cheap MP3 Chinese Player from e-bay, and on the first day of recieving it ive managed to break it!
It will work as a data stick but will no longer play my MP3's.
When I first recieved it there was some random chinese music, which I obviously wanted to delete. Forgetting my P.C was set to show hidden files i deleted everything, including system files!
I have tried to reformat it but its still dead! I have also ran a system recovery, looking for deleted files, but still no joy!
I know its a long shot but does anyone think they can help?

I'm guessing it didn't come with any software.

Does the manufacturer have a website? Even if it is in a font you have to DL, it's worth a go.
Maybe you'll be lucky and it'll be in english. Or use one of those webtranslators. No good usually, but better than a beating with a big stick.

Thats the thing I dont know who made it. it has no brand names, numbers or other markings.
It did come with a CD Rom but it only has drivers and a manual on it!

They are still being sold, listed as 'MP3 Player &128M USB &Voice Rec &FM'
I should be able to copy the files if anyone has the same one.

Other than that I think I might have to go with the big stick idea!

contact the seller, ask him if he has any more, and if he could email the files to you.

Do you have a picture? Maybe from the auction?

Bingo! That's sold by Aria (www.aria.co.uk) under their own brand name (Arianet DB685 mp3). Hopefully they can help you with some files, or even me (since my son just bought one)!

My mp3 player died too.

I've the same problem with mine, but the firmware you've linked to doesn't seem to support fm. Nor does it produce any sound. The player I've got uses an ATJ2073 chip from Actions Semiconductors. These are used in your mp3 player I think, though mine is made by HY from Hong Kong. I've tried e-mailing the manufacturers but I've had no response. Any help appreciated as I've just got a very expensive usb drive at the moment.

Thanks.

Seems to me that when people buy these noname stylee mp3s players the first thing they should do is backup all the files to a rar on there pc or a cd or sumit so they can restore them to there inital state.

I've founds the files!!!

Hi everyone,
After much searching I've found the site (I think!) fo rthese MP3 players.
It's at http://www.cvc-cn.com/38601.html One there on the third drop down list pick the model number 3860..this wil lprompt a download of a zip file with the files in...I've used it and I now have a fully working MP3 player ..yippeee!!!
Only one snag...once it was installed , it came back up in chinese..bt if you use the MP3 players menus you can change this...it does work honst.

Thanks

I had the same problem, though I'm not sure what caused it (my theory is that the beta firmware failed to interpret an "auto-off" setting of 0 seconds as "Disable"). After two and a half days of research, taking the thing apart, emailing out and waiting for replies (which still haven't came) I found this thread, followed Mr B's post, and now have a working MP3 player again.

Just wanted to post and say thanks. I'll stick around for a bit and see if I can help anyone else...

I too recently bought unbadged MP3 player which is faulty. I bought ID833 1GB from mp3players.co.uk (terrible support service) which seems to be similar product to the arianet one mentioned in previous posts. Problem I have is that PC recognises device and starts to install but then says there is a problem. The player itself comes up with the connection screen (as per instructions) then screen goes blank and then says "starting..." and it keeps going through this cycle continuously. I sent device back to supplier who said they can connect to it, put some songs on it and returned it to me. I still have same problem. Can't seemngly do anything because I can't get into file system of player. I have tried on three PC's and have same issue on each. Anyone got any ideas?
