aye.

some people think they are so uber when they winn a 6 VS 1 fight.
I was on a 1vs1 fight with a bard today when his seven friends came and killed me in 3 secs. after that they gave me emotes like /salute and /bow as if "well done, you almost killed us all!, that was a tough fight."

riiiight.

/hug is the way to go, regardless of whether you killed them or not, regardless of whether they are an enemy or not, regardless of if they are even dead or not. /hug should be on all of your main quick bars.

I use:

/rude only when its a buffbotted SB (not ns as they are quite sweet really), regardless of how many Im grouped with.

/laugh when its an enemy that's lost in an amusing or ridiculous way

/dismiss after completely owning an enemy who attacked first, or as an alternative to /rude

/bow when it's been a well fought, honourable fight

/hug when it's an old "friend" who's fallen, regardless if the circumstances

:D

Erm you think a 1 on 1 fight with a bard is honourable? Bards can't solo!!! Anyone can kill a bard 1 on 1!

Bards are great in groups however - try one you'll see what I mean.

I tend to use /bow and /salute to show that I feel the ENEMY has fought bravely. It's a war out there, and them's the breaks if a full group runs over you while you're trying to sneak about... but if you go down fighting, you deserve a gesture of respect. Rule of thumb with my reaver - if I wasn't spamming Asp (flex rear positional style), you probably deserve a salute :)

I don't hold with /rude, /laugh or jumping on dead enemies - shows a lack of respect and sportsmanship (yeah, it's a war... in a game, no reason not to be sportsmanlike about fighhts when you get rezzed and go straight back into the fray). I'm all for giving the enemy /rude and /taunt BEFORE one of us gets killed though :)

/clap is the worsed one, its ALWAYS sarcastic. Like when you've stealthed just slightly too near apk and sudden find yourself unstealthed and dead to be /clapped by half of albion.

...Facts coming!

No that wasn't a full group(*), that was a duel that went wrong between you and Binkie Boy! And in a manner of speaking in didn't go wrong because you died.

As for the /salute thingie: it is always polite to salute the enemy, dead or alive, preferably the first.

(*) Me, Collegien the scout and Kinyt the sorcerer

Agree with Kian.....only time I'd /salute an enemy if a group of hibbies killed him or her is if I'm saluting the fact they stood and fought against over whelming odds....Now thats honourable

That's what I thought until yesterday. I went to bg3 with my bard to suicide to get to SI, so I go to hb and melee a yellow con man at arms thinking right Ill be off in a few seconds. Much to my surprise I was holding my own, I was also evading and blocking a lot, goooo random number generator :). After over a minute I actually had the battle won (just), ofc I stopped attacking because the point was to die in the first place.

So with a blue con dropped weapon and 1 spec unstyled and with the lvl 20 ish insta dd I beat a yellow realm guard. Priceless.
