Blockbusters had some quite good bundles. Check all the usual online suspects, the places with lots of excess stock of 60gb models will probably be offering the best deals.

Well I'll be fucked. I thought Sony said there'd be adequate stock for 60gb consoles until Christmas. Tried all over Meadowhall yesterday where they'd had stock about a week ago and not one left. No offers left online that I can see. Fuck paying £500 on eBay.

Before anyone mentions it I have NO interest in the 40gb model as PS2 playback was at least 50% of the reason I wanted one. My old PS2 is a bit flaky now

And before anyone mentions these, Wiis are boring and 360s are too noisy for my quiet PC room.

PS2 games are still region locked though I thought. Not much point in backwards compatibility if I have to re-buy them all.

Yep same conversation I've had with lots of customers.

I tell them we have the 40gb, they say "but that doesnt have backwards compatibility does it?". Sony have lost many potential customers, lots of people have been saving to buy a ps3 and replace their ps2. These people cannot understand why sony have stopped production of the console they have been saving for.

The only people buying 40gb consoles are parents who do not know the difference.
