hmmmm i wonder how many wiz peeps gonna change from fire, they suddenly gonna realise:

"oh fire sucks lets try ice or perhaps even earth"

hehe, bet that will go in the face when there is suddenly 300% more PBAErs then alb will HAVE to use them rather than just flaming them for using teh best ice spell ever.

You see folks, that's EXACTLY the kind of things the respec can cause. Please please please, read patch notes fully and read them twice! (can find them all at http://faq.camelot-europe.com).
You played a defensive armsman for 50 levels, you learned all the tricks, you KNOW how to play your character and you know your limitations. Now, suddenly, one day, you are a big nasty polearm user and...wow! You find it lame because polearms are soooo slow and you can't even slam anymore!! Heck, during raids you die so fast because you don't have your shield to save you anymore! You get hit by arrows ALL the time!!
Note that i'm not saying that polearm sucks, far from it, I'm just saying that you may totally lose all the "knowledge" you gained during the 50 levels being a defensive tank.

Unless you are currently level 48+, you will NOT be able to respec at 50!
As the system goes, you can only respec at level 20 and level 40 and that's only ONE line. The command for this is /respec <nameofline>.
Now, when we'll patch to 1.52 and ONLY for characters already existing, you will get a /respec all (see the "say no to respec" mantra). The characters able to "/respec all" will only be able to do so WITHIN their 2 next levels after the patch.

Some examples:
- BillyJoe is level 24 when we patch to 1.52. He can /respec all at level 24, level 25 or level 26(just once of course). After that, he loses his /respec all ability and will have to wait for level 40 to be able to /respec ONE line.
- CarryJoe is level 50 when we patch to 1.52. He will be able to use his /respec all ability whenever he wants.
- JohnJoe isn't created yet when we patch to 1.52. He will never get /respec all and will only be able to /Respec one line at level 20 and level 40 (and ONLY these levels, if you don't use it at 20, you won't be able to do it at 21).

Be careful with that :)

It would be a much easier read if you just put

"if and when you fuck up, don't come crying to us because we warned you repeatedly"

funny thing is i just know some fool's gonna respec, realise he's gimped himself and complain like a bitch cause GAO won't reverse his respec.

to all those wanted to respec do what i plan to do, get yourself on Gorre when its on your server database and do it there where it doesn't effect your excal/pyr character.

(i plan to test out 50mend spec, damn that uber heal looks tempting but i'd be throwing away a lot to get it. hence the testing :D)

Prydwen dB wont be put on Gorre, only Excal dB will.
So all us lucky people on Prydwen will either...

a) Take a chance
or
b) Pester the Excal guys for info (I can see a flood of Respecc questions from Pry players on Excal forums soon ;))

It's probably been mentioned a lot of times already ,but the only reason to respec is if you put points into a line that you do not use at all (I did with my Armsman at the start of retail).
The other reason is if your class has been changed from what it started out as (Archers anyone ? :( )

There is absolutely no reason to change just because you want to become the flavour of the month.

That being said ,people will still rush to their trainers and like kids in a sweet shop click on the wrong button and mess it all up again.

Well first of all, can people saying "you wont know how to play your char anymore yada yada yada, please GO AWAY"

If you dont know how to play your char after a respec youll damn well learn. And if you dont like the respec.. well its tough luck.

I will be respeccing purely because when i made my bard i didnt know what mez was and didnt spec highly in music ;)

So I say yet again

YES YES AND YES!!! to respec :)

has been posted before, but:

No one is forcing you to respec.

If you don't want respec to be part of your game then don't do it.

It's fine for those who want it - I personally don't need it, there's not much you can change with a skald (Standard 46 BS, 44 Weap, 17 Parry Temp), apart from maybe trying out 50 Weap - which i will do on Gorre.

Just a note: If you get "/respec all", you will need to use it BEFORE gaining 2 levels. If you are level 31 when we patch, then you'll need to use your /respec all at 31 or at level 32. If you level to 33 without using it, then you will lose it.
