i was just wondering - if you preorder stuff, do play ship to deliver on release date or do they ship on release date?

I would imagine they would ship to deliver on the release date, otherwise what would be the point?

Titles that are not released will be dispatched on their listed release dates. Deliveries usually take 3-5 working days.

Well I've found they ship so you get it about the time of release, although this depends when they receive their stock.

I have found play.com to be excellent for DVDs and CDs but utter utter shite at games

I've found GAME to be very good with games.

Except I can't order TW2004 because of the fucking postal strike.

Yeah with GAME i get my games day before release 90% of the time

Actually I find Play pretty good, except around Christmas time but then its only with CD's and DVD's. Never had a problem with games and Play only with my Post and the damm Post Office.


Sry my local PO is terriable they are all so lazy. U walk in with that stupid bit of card saying have u got my package u hand over the card, they wait around a bit before yelling for some guy named 'Tim' to fetch him a cup of tea and start looking for my package.

A mate of mine uses play all the time. The only problem he's had is when they sent him the wrong music CD. He e-mailed them, they apologised and they gave him a full refund and still sent him the correct CD, in effect he got it for free.

I emailed them a while back in relation to a price query and never got a reply. Then more recently I placed an order for a PS2 controller aand one of their PS2 /USB connectors which allow you to use the PS2 controller on a PC. They sent me two of each and charged me fo all four items. They refuse to reply to my emails and after writing to them two weeks a go Ive still not had any reply.

Companies like that dont get my money no matter how good their prices are.

So Ive a brand spanking new Red PS2 controller and USB connecter up for grabs if anyone wants to buy.

Never had any problems with Play at all, best place to get games, cd's and dvd's etc at the moment.
Only other place I use is Amazon but only for when I want something either a bit older or just less mainstream, they have a larger range.

...on the upside though I bought some items from Simply Computers. Soon after they arrived I got a letter which said that they were sorry to hear that the items I had ordered were returned and that they would refund my credit card. Now I never returned the stuff so ultimately Ive paid nothing for them.

ive used play LOTS - no problems, except it does take a LONG time sometimes
