Ok, I post for OVER A WEEK that I have an ML4 raid going, I am "trying" to lead the raid. I then get threatening pm's saying that my zerg "kill stole".

I then get threats of being reported to GOA.

Ok, I am trying to lead a zerg of 100+ people. I have "players" turned off. I have pre-noted i have this raid for over a week but I get threatened in pm's, despite me trying to be nice and apologise.

I have made a real effort to keep my raids open to all and to be honest I feel like sitting back and never running an ML again.

Also drinking vodka, so yes I will probably lead a raid again, but the guild who was abusing me need not EVER apply tbh.

As former leader of an ML4 zerg I feel a need to speak. I think Bonice and Darklis did one hell of a job tonight on ML4. We did it in 4 hours, and I'm genuinely sorry for those (snugglebot included) who did not receive full credit. There will always be fools thinking they own mobs despte the 100+ realm mates who signed up in advance. Pay it no attention - I think you'll find you have 100+ people backing you up on this one.

However, I'm ashamed of those in my realm who see bg chat or pms as tools to abuse others. The last three major raids I've been on people have been spamming in, been horribly rude in or downright ignored bg chat, despite crystal clear leadership. Sure, these are actions by individuals - but as a trend I'm inclined to state the obvious - ToA brings out nothing but the worst in us.

It's not a surprise that all of this leads to Darklis at the moment not wanting to lead FFA raids again. It also gives me qualms about organising anything FFA. How do you feel about the way people act on raids now?

The raid itself was run properly, and almost all got the credit for it (sorry to those who failed)

As to the afters... Tempers were frayed, ppl grumpy and it let the evening down...

Not the fault of the leaders at all, just those ppl who got a bit unpleasant and spammed the bg with unnecessary nonsense...

Pity you don't wanna run em again, coz you did well all things considered...

Running through the first town, I noticed a couple of people at the egde of one of the camps. They probably freaked out when 100 zergers bombed the camp and left it burning. About an hour later they figured out something strange had happend, as the camp was still on fire and no mobs had spawned! So they found out Snugglebot was leading the raid and starting blaming her for deliberately pulling from their camp and kill stealing. These accusations turned to abuse and went on for over 30mins...

Thanks for setting up the raid Darklis, ignore the whiners




+ Before raid leaders end the lotto, ask if anyone still wants an item that wasn't rolled for (the salvagers will want to know what's left, tell them to scroll up and work it out ). Then finish the lotto. If anyone later complains that you stole loot... tell them they should've mentioned it during the lotto, which is now over!

Doesn't matter how long he was there for, the raid was planned about a week ago. As he was at an ML encounter location, surely an ML raid should take precedence over a scroll farmer?

Besides, it's not like Darklis attacked his mob. Someone on the raid probably did, but he must've thought your friend was on the raid too. So why is he holding Darklis personally responsible for what happend?

His mob was only attacked out of error, not malice. If the guy can't understand this and is feeling wronged in real-life, then he needs to go out, get some fresh air and start eating more greens.


As for him being abusive or not... he certainly dragged the issue and probably not in the friendliest manner. Darklis was definately distressed and so the conversation can be seen as abusive. Abuse is relative afterall.

I'm not Requiel but I'll tell you anyway...

A mob is not claimed until it is pulled or the encounter started. However it is possible that one group can be doing the encounter and another group unintentionally pulls another aspect of the same encounter... This is what the Code of Conduct covers

It comes down to common sense and treating people with respect. If someone is camping an arti mob then ask them if their group is on its way. Wait a reasonable amount of time and if they don't get their bums in gear and get a viable group together then offer them BG credit.. this isn't covered by the CoC but it is covered by being a decent human being.

There'll always be whiners and people you cant please i wouldnt worry about it. I dont lead any FFA raids now - tried one or two and got massively whined at when despite having repeatedly explained the rules for the lotto someone didnt get the drop they wanted.
Tried to lead a multiple keep raid a while back on another character, and suprise suprise got death threats (made me laugh actually) from an infil who got left behind becuase he LD'ed and died while LD...Welcome to a game that encourages people to behave at their worst.
Good raid from what i saw mate watched a lot of it on a mate's PC - very quick too.

Oh and to just TWO people in a certain rvr guild group that accused me and my duo partner of following them around tonight in emain...You're so l33t i want to be just like you :worthy: , living in front of a computer 24/7 never washing, going outside or touching another person,never sleeping...
Prehaps the reason we were "following" you was the 2fg of hibs chasing around the area, and figured we might make it to our hunting area outside emain alive if we followed you to the bowl? I might remove you from /ignore when your IQ rises to a level where it cant be used to cool my beer anymore <waves>

Tbh I think 100 ppl go before 1 person scroll farming. Especially when the raid was posted on a public forum 1 week before.

It will suprise me if there is any public raids in the future. Always someone who whines when the Raid Leader havn't done anything wrong, they just want someone to blame for their own mistake. (I do not say that is the case here)

Anyways, heads up Darklis, doing a great job.

Use some common sense. If it was a specific mob I'd understand his/her bitterness, but normal setians? When there's a 4.2 raid going on? With a zerg of that size it's doubtful the raidleader (or many others) even noticed the pulls in the first place; it wouldn't be the first time people have decided to go vigilante and pull mobs ahead of the zerg after all. At any rate I'm sure the raidleader would've afforded him/her an apology if he'd asked for one - it really isn't something worth getting worked up over.

Aye Common sense and treating people with respect is exactly what the solo guy should have used, nice argument but works far better in reverse tbh.

Common sense dictates that any level 50 by now knows where this forum is and had a chance to notice there was an ml raid on, therefore a chance that mobs for encounters may be zerged.

Comon sense dictates that hardly anyone in a 100 person zerg will have player names switched on and even if they did, do you know every single name in your bg?

Common sense dictates that a pm asking 100 people to stop killing 4 yellow/oj mobs aint gonna get through in time to do anything about it.

Common sense dictates that the leader of a 100 person ml raid has enough on his plate without taking the time to studiously and politely answer pm spam.

Common Sense and respect suggests sending 1 polite pm to the leader in question, with the option for the two of you to discuss it after the raid. I'm sure had this been done Dark would have sorted something to keep everyone happy, he's a decent bloke.

I don't think there's anything any raid leader could do differently tbh. with clip range, no colours for bg names (which as I mention prolly weren't on anyway) and a huge zerg to control.

Putting it in real (surreal?) terms, if I was playing marbles in the street and the (well advertised) Rio Carnival rolled into town, I aint gonna yell at the topless bird in front for kicking my marble down the drain. I'll take my small (but perky) ass out of there and go have a pint somewhere else, or watch the carnival (mebbe flash my man-breasts for beads etc......)
