lol niceone! many an evening me and the bf have been sat on the sofa watching our guineas running about the floor and the thought "why the hell arnt they extinct??" usually does battle with "why the hell were they invented??" i mean as dearly as i love em they aint the sharpest forks in the draw, and the legs are about half a cm long, which is ok on a little animal but when you top them with a body thats long and chubby it does worry you that they'll just buckle in the middle and not be able to get up again.

However saying this i'm glad they were invented and that they didnt get extinct because they are quite possibly the silliest animals about and provide so much entertainment, its a shame those movies dont have sound because the noises they make crease me up.

Correction: the second silliest!

The prize for the silliest animal goes to ferrets. I once had a ferret that used to stick his head into any opening it would find. Once it tried to "climb" into the front end of the vaccum cleaner while I was cleaning my room. Needless to say, it got stuck there (mostly because the vaccum cleaner was ON and the ferrets head was sucked in) and couldn´t move until I decided to switch off the vaccum cleaner again (after I finished laughing my ass off). The ferret looket like a bog brush after this, but that didn´t keep it from trying the same stunt again right after I switched on the machine. And again. And again. A ferrets ability to learn is Zilch!

At another occasion, it tried to climb into a bottle-holding basket, basically 4 vertical tubes. It got stuck because the laws of physics and gravity and the fact that it´s impossible to turn around when hanging upside down in a tube that´s just a little wider than your body. I had to rescue it.

Ferrets can´t climb. That doesn´t keep them from trying. My ferrets favourite game was trying to climb up the sofa. Half way up, it usually just fell down, landing on the back like a wet sponge. Roll back onto the feet, stand up, shake head... repeat. For hours.

Ferrets are almost completely resistant to pain in any form. The only way to let it know that it´s done something wrong (like widdling onto the carpet) is to snip a finger against its nose. Everything else is a waste of energy. They just don´t notice when you beat the crap out of them.
