Great responses, know what I am missing in my film collections. Currently watching Beverly Hills Cop, god how I loved this film, the comedy element and the music.

Risky Business :) classic film always entertaining even if tom is in it
Good choice, although I always end up feeling the need to knock one out.... the bit where he slides past the door in his socks.. Awesome.

Probably best to skip His Mouse Friday

I've actually been watching all the Tom and Jerries with my son. The quality becomes very mixed after Fred Quimby leaves, even though it's still Hanna-Barbera. Not far off getting to the Gene Deitch episodes :/

Never the same without Mammy Two Shoes.

indeed. the old T&J, BB, etc were a large part of my childhood. very recently I had the misfortune to watch a post-Quimby era T&J and it was dire :(

although it really was the Tex Avery/Quimby/Jones three-way that brought the magic.

Maybe so, but after ep100-ish where Quimby stops being credited, some of the shorts are shite.

Galaxy Quest
Life Of Brian
St. Trinians (2007)
The Dictator

EDIT: Also agree with the Fred Quimby comments above. The man gave T & J so much class, so obvious once he was gone.
