I am rather excited as my ring flash has arrived today

Not using it for close up stuff, they can be great fun for studio work. Its also the thing that puts those nice little cicles in peoples eyes

What is that mark in her mouth? Has she got one of them studs in her tongue? Yikes. Puts me right off. Beautiful girl with a poisonous rusty old nail in her mouth - whatever next. Then again I could be barking up the wrong tree entirely and it is just her tongue showing - and a innocent beautiful tongue it could be too. More to these photos and photography than you think when you start to delve. Thought provoking. Then again maybe the camera put that mark there? One could go on and on and on analyzing all the marks on her face. Sherlock Holmes could have probably writen a whole life history of that girl on just studying that photo alone.

Yes it is. That one may not be as i was just using it for illistration.

I have been a photographer for over 5 years now and have used a ring flash before, and worked with people who have used them.

I've put it a bit wrong there. Thought it was an older pic and that you meant that you need the ring for the effect.
In studio I would most likely stick to the lights there. That ring seems handy for when you go on location tho.

Yeah i want to give it a go for when i am doing club stuff. Usually doing clubs your very close (i use 10mm-20mm wide angle due to being close) so this should be interesting

Totally agree if you can get in the studio you should always do so, i much prefer having total control over lighting
