Hi guys,

Our hardware is old and we are running windows XP. We are going to upgrade but I wanted to know if you guys use any software to give a performance boost?

I have heard of PC tune up software but have never tried them.

Something Like CCleaner can get rid of alot of temp files, clogging up your system. Also the use of msconfig to only run microsoft services on start up, can improve the PC's start up speed.

Haven't had much experience with tune up software, always been wary of them.

software to give a performance boost?

Nope. Doesn't exist.

Think of it this way - performance boosting software makes your processor perform calculations - calculations that it would otherwise be using to do what you actually want it to do.

Other than getting rid of the shit on your system, making sure you've enough mem and that you're defragged once in a blue moon then there's nothing to do but upgrade.

Modern computers gain performance boosts via hardware not software so much, although CCleaner is useful for cleaning up junk files etc.

Yeah think the user will just have to wait. They have an SSD so a defrag wont even help.
