Right, my last bits for my new PC arrived today, and like an eager puppy, I started building.
Got all the bits and bobs in, turned it on, see lights coming on, fans spinning and dead. Nothing except LED's on mobo that are always on.
My
mobo is abit fatality AN8 SLI socket 939
cpu is AMD athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
PSU is tagan tg530-u22
I get a POST code LED on the mobo, and the number is 87.
From the manual, it says NET PC: Build SYSID Structure
It could also be 8.7, which is from the power on sequence, which translates to "check CPU voltage", but I can't touch the CPU unless I can get to the BIOS.
Might as well be speaking swahili.
I've done the usual debugging:
Unplugged everything, plugged it back in.
Unplugged everything except motherboard, get lights, fans on mobo (not CPU fan) and then it dies, and I'm suck with the post LED "87".
Nothing I do gets me past this 87 error, and I'm stumped. I've tried googling it, but I just get a list of POST codes.
Atm, I'm trying to just get a response that isn't 87, but I'm strugling.
Anyone got any ideas, or words of wisdom?
