There are about 20 games I really want for PC in the next 3 months!

Nothing really to expect this year, now next year...oh yeah...OH yeah.

Ambulation(+more) in EVE.
Fallout 3.
Tabula rasa?

mmmm.....

This has been, for the most part, an FPS year really.

Its really bad :(, was so dissapointed in that game
Unless they do dramatic changes to what the beta showed (which i doubt at this late stage)

What makes it bad, pray do tell.

Not in beta, i don't like the whole "beta" thing(only 'cause i have to deal with them when i work too much), but curious to know.

Is there legit problems or opinion things?

Also how severe?

And never underestimate the power of whip when beta is at it's last stage.

There is nothing overly wrong with it, my first impressions were it was good in fact.
Enemy design is awesome, it really has a sci-fi ww2 feel to it and the enviroments are nicely animated to give them a eerie feel, aside from the pathing and various other problems i trust will be fixed in the coming months leading up to release.
I REALLY wanted this game to work as the whole sci-fi setting was awesome and Garriot potentially could have made this game so good

But after the honeymoon period it becomes generic, dull and boring, there is more imagination in a corpse than there is in the missions within the game unfortunately

I'll elaborate a little, it is great fun fror about a hr then the problems become more and more annoying, till the game is no longer fun.
The interface is horrible, to their credit they have improved it vastly since Beta1 3 months ago, but still it is awkward and cumbersome.
The graphics arent bad, but nothing overly impressive, what did get me was the fact that it doesnt run well considering the level of the gfx, indicating shoddy coding to me (I have a C2D, Gefroce 8800 GTS 640Mb)

The gameplay is great for the first hour like i mentioned, but it doesnt grab you and suck you into the comfort blanket of addiction, it simply dulls out and gets repetative
The sheer number of bugs in the thing is amazing, i know its a beta but even the chat system broke down almost at random, and when it was up all you see is people complaining about bugs. The worst bug tho was the fact your avatar would be running along a flat coridoor and suddenly get stuck in the floor, forcing you to log out, this wasnt a iscolated incident it happened a fair bit. But again its a beta so this can be forgiven at first but becomes a major annoyance when it causes you to be killed by mobs.
The lack of PVP also is a issue, for me at least, removes the end game.

Most of the above can be fixed, but the game being dull is probably not one of them, the storyline is ok depending on what you choose, there is ALOT of go kill 10 of x, go hit x until it shits out 15 turds, go fetch this from x and bring it back etc etc, but you do get little Garriot'esque captions unfolding the story which makes it less painful of a grind for a while.
The game also doesnt lead you very well, vetran UO players wont find this a issue but to new players this is really a issue as at points the quest quite literally dies off and you are not given even a clue as to where you go next

The other major gripe for me was that you didnt really know WHY the Bane are bad, there is little/no explanation to this so i found ti quite difficult to build a festering hate towards them. In WoW you are thrust into the battlelines for the good of your respective race with background story to support it, in Tabula Rasa, erm.. Bane are bad?

It's not a bad game, but its nothing special either and imo not worth the $14.99 p month they are going to charge for it. A sa freebie i have no doubt i would be succesful, as for a one off it is very good but when it is held up against the latest offerings such as WAR (beta), WoW, Lord of the Rings, Everquest etc.. it is really sub par for a monthly

Thanks for the info Chronic, and from what i can see, most the things are probably things that the "world setting"(and possible "fluffy" features) will put in ease.

I've been waiting for it with a bit of drool though, so it might be that i might overlook some of the issues come release(if not fixed) and give it time.

Still, got a lot of work evidently.
