Right.

Lets say I am bidding on an item and it ends in 1 day yet my funds from my bank account still has 6 days to go into my account.

Is there another way I can directly pay for those trainers in 1 day's time instead of waiting 6 days (if the seller is a grumpy fuckface)?

The seller prefers Paypal yet underneath the word Paypal is Mastercard/Visa/Solo/Electron etc.

Is there any way I can pay directly through my bank using Paypal?

My card supports Solo too.

Thanks for any help and I will be handing out alot of rep to anyone that helps :D

Get a validated paypal account - funds should clear straight away. The only time I had to wait for clearance was when my card was renewed and I forgot to update paypal.

I am vertified - it says it takes 7-9 days from a bank account though and it always has done for me :

oic...validated...will that get rid of the 7-9 day wait?

Aye you need to validate the account or something - may tie into the type of account you have with your bank also. I think they credit 2 small amounts into your account of 1-10p or something and you need to confirm the amounts - not sure if thats the validation process or earlier - ages since I did it.

and that u should be very careful of doing. IF someone manage to hack paypal, they can effectivly get every penny u own, granted u might get the cash back (tho i doubt paypal with help ya) its still a major pain in the arse.

/edit: oh and u ARE giving paypal various right of the bank account (atleast last time i read the terms)

Most sellers will accept postal order(if in uk)

cash by registered delivery

bank transfer

also most sellers are pretty good so if u message them and tell them the funds dont go in for nearly a week and u reassure them they will get there money.. they will wait. just explain it dontgo in for a week and if they cant wait which other options do they accept.

Paypal are generally good to be honest, someone had 10grand spent on their ebay account via paypal recently and they blocked the payment. they can also reverse the payment if need be.

And from a fraud investigator point of view i like them, only takes about 3weeks for them to send entire buyer/seller history and account details, and as have to send away to their US address to get it then they much better then most british companies :)

if you transfer money from the bank it will take 6-9 days or whatever it is, if you use a card like VISA/American Express/Mastercard or whatever, it goes straight through

When you verify your paypal account, any payments you make are taken from your account in the same way that direct debits are made - they dont have any rights over your account except that you have given permission for an exact amount of money to be withdrawn. You are within your rights to cancel any paypal withdrawls the same way you would cancel direct debit payments - its all very safe :)

Well, i'll be validating my account later but I've already vertified it - and that's the bank-related side so I assume it will always be 7-9 days...

Thankfully the guy sent me an e-mail stating it is fine for me to pay later - probably because his item has raised little interest ;)

Thansk for the help all.

Btw, ebay are very good with customer support issues. I had a guy that failed to send me a game. Paypal refunded the money for me no problem.
