Why on earth have they called up a complete unknown into the England cricket team when there are people such as Hoggard,Jones etc waiting in the wing for the opportunity to get back into the side. WHY???!!!????!?!?!?

He's bowled well to be fair him. He's shown more than Hoggard and Harmison so far in FC cricket this year, and Jones needs to prove he last the distance by playing this whole season without picking up an injury.

To come out of nowhere (made his debut for Victoria at 28) and average 26 with the ball is quite remarkable.

hmmmmmmmm, well I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be able to bowl as well at an international level. Im worried about them pushing ambrose up to 6 (i think they said he's at 6) He's out of form with bat at the moment and putting him at 6 isn't going to lessen the pressure on him !

I agree about Ambrose... he's not good enough to bat at 6, fact.

Should have either

a) Brought Prior in to bat at 6.
b) Brought Read in, bat him at 8, risk moving Broad up to 6, Freddie at 7.

hey ho, Billy made a bad decision there. Poor Cookie, oh well lets hope Vaughan can give a decent innnings this test.

Yeah Prior is batting well in FC cricket at the moment and would provide some much need umph into the lower order. Broad also could do to move up the order a little bit, although we must remember Lords is an incredibly flat pitch, but still 74 was an impressive score.

Vaughan is past it.

Make KP captain, bat Bell at 3, bring in Bopara to bat at 5 or 6.

Everyones happy.

Indeed he is, he just can't seem to get anywhere these days. His tactical thinking is pretty good, but apart from that he's not good in the field or bat anymore. But other people can learn tactics.

Kp's matured a lot the past year or so, so yeah I think he would do well as Captain. Bell gots the ability to work at 3 and Bopara has shown the ability, although theres a toss-up with him or Shah. But who knows what goes through the selectors head.

Yeah Bopara or Shah.

Bopara is having another amazing season at County level, but can't seem do the business for England. Hopefully he wont turn out to be a nother Ramps/Hick.

Well in one innings he's got 4 times the number of runs our 3rd batsman has in 2 innings, so seems like a decent choice to me!!
