patch/upgrade difficulties

Hey all,
I'm a newbie, got a gigantic package of all the games recently. This stuff really kicks ass. Having trouble connecting to anything online cuz they're all 1.0 versions. Gives me an 'out of date executables' message. I looked around a little, am having trouble with the 75 mb 1.0.0.3 patch. Is there an easier way? or maybe a set of patches instead of one huge one? Sorry if this annoying drivel, you guys just seemed like a good crew to ask.

Well you could either download that one in one huge bundle, or, get it in 1.1 / 1.2 / 1.3, which will take you even longer i think (way i done it was ask someone on ADSL and ask em to download it)

if you go to the barrysworld half life section there is direct links to the latest two patches for halflife, and links to mod patches too..
and if you fancy other games there are other game pages....

You could try using kazaa to download the patches, at least u can easily resume a broken connection.

Check counterstrike.net for the latest patch versions.

If you can't d/l them... didn't the PCGamer discs have all the patches at one time or another?

Woohoo I came up with something useful for once

www.getright.com has a download manager which will download the patch for you.

If it disconnects it will resume from where it left off.

Better off with the single update - less problems.

thank you all for your wonderful advice
that get right program is very good (meaning simple) and i got the patch. in the meantime my darling sibling has filled up the hard drive. as soon as i get it cleared i'll see you all in the games.

1. Buy PCZone/Gamer/Format

2. Download "Download Accelerator Pro" from www.speedbit.com - open it, click on "New" paste a URL for the file into the poped-up box, wait for the list of mirrors to appear, choose the one at the top of the list, select it, download. When you have to go offline, close the download window, next time you go online, go to DAP and re-start the download (it starts from where it was before)
