Parallel Universes

I'm convinced there's a parrallel universe inhabited only by teenagers and young 20 somethings.

You see, I seem to be feeding half the teenage population of Crawley, as the kids bring home their boyfriends/girlfiend/someone they met on a bus...etc. In short, there always seems to be a mopey teenager in my kitchen wolfing down grub bought with my hard-earned.

Now, talking to the parents of these kids, they they are also having to take out a second mortgage to keep their cupboards stocked with food for the daily influx of, apparently, starving freeloaders.

This cannot be...unless they're existing in a parallel universe.

Conversely, when I were a lad, I can't remember dining out (on a regular basis anyway) at other people's houses. Maybe we get a 'Men in Black' style memory wipe when we reach 40?

s'cuse me, I have to go to Sainsburys now

Its like those pan-dimensional bowels that small fluffy dogs have, the ones that seem to be able to disperse far more poo than they are physically capable of holding.

How I laughed when I first saw that Harry Enfield sketch where "little brother" metamorphosed into "Kevin the Teenager", it kept me laughing right up to the point it happened to my own step-son :(

Bah! We made it good!

If you're interested, as a kid I was always too polite to eat at friends houses unless their parents offered. Even then I'd most likely say no, thank you.

Even now, at my girlfriend's parent house I tend to sit under the table, never moving or talking unless I'm told to.

I just let the dogs assault me when I'm at the gf's mum's house. Too polite to go "ARGH ! STOP IT ! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!"

I'm a cat person.

all dogs must be consigned to labor camps, where they may be given the chance to live full, productive lives.

Teenagers, too.

(Happy now, SoWat? )

Well I don't really have anything against divvy teenagers as I, and most other people, was a divvy teenager once. It's the hordes that live in my larder that I'd like to ship off to somewhere cold, with 'ShortSharpShock' in the name!

Actually, it's just wishful thinking.

My lot, like most yoofs, have an infinite capacity to wind one up without actually doing anything deserving of a clip round the ear. If I banished their famished friends, life just wouldn't be bearable :)

Hmmn, on the other hand if I did, there might be some booze left at the end of a party, and no yuck to clear up!
