Panasonic Cube vs XBox

Wow, having to replace drivers on your console to get a remotely legitamte DVD playback. Anyone else find that especially stupid? And oh yes, that's one of the main concerns all the Sony fanboys give out with the XBox.

Thought I would just sidetrack a bit here but:

Lik-sang are good, but I have heard just as many good things about www.dcslinks.com . Infact that is where I got my GBA Flashlinker from and had no problems at all.

Lik-Sang delivered a jap cube to my mate who pre-ordered it 2 days after it was released. 2 days. He lives in the arse end of nowhere in England too. I found that muchos impresive.

I've heard people say that. However I have experienced both the "good" (my Toshiba DVD player) and the "fine" (my PS2). My conclusion?

I can't tell the fucking difference tbh :/
I can. My PS2's sound level has always been very low no matter what TV I hook it to, even if I use the onboard boost it makes little difference. And I can occasionally notice it struggling in places. However I don't really care that much because I bought the PS2 for the games, the DVD playback just allowed me to save cash on buying a standalone player.

Now with the GC on the horision I like what I see in terms of existing games & potential for the future (plus I fucking want Sonic Adventure 2 and I want it NOW). I also want better DVD playback as well, thats why I want a Q instead of the official GC to save cash again & Nintendo are doing the job this time in place of Sony.

And before anybody says "you can get that with the X-Box" I don't see why I should fork out the cash when I dont see the potential for it being any good. I don't wanna risk any of my DVDs/CDs getting scratched for a start. Its controller is crap & has been (and now admited to by m$) US targeted and i'm not paying £30 extra for there design cockup. The box itself is like the difference between a Telewest Analogue box (small and compact) and the Digital box (oversized and ugly) and is again badly designed.

Summary:
PS2 = Good but getting older now (so no its not crap), plenty of future title potential still.
GC = The Upcoming Daddy, neat compact design, cheap (which is damn impressive in the console market), bags of potential.
X-Box = Overhyped piece of junk, poorly designed, overpriced, and that all before you slap it with a "Backed by Microsoft" sticker.

Nintendo's experience should never be underestimated, no matter who the new kid on the block is.

You left the word Sony out in between "all" and "consoles".

;)
