Paladin Ward Chants

Can anyone advise just which magics each of the Paladin ward chants guard against - and which realms casters are more likely to use those magics?

I dont know about the matter and spirit stuff but the most common is:

Energy: Most Midgard casters - runemaster bolts and dd's - Thanes! - and Hib pbaoe.
Cold: Some Hibernian casters - eldritch bolts and dd's mostly. Also some runemasters.
Heat: A lot of Hib spells - does little for mids.
Body: skald spells?


So when facing mids: Energy all the way
Facing hibs: Heat/cold/energy tough one.
If hibs defend a keep then energy no doubt.

Sorry, you don't win the prize.

Hib light spec is heat, void (bolts) and mana (pbae) specs are cold.
Mid RM bolts are cold, as is the darkness line.
Skald DDs are body.

Cold is probably your best bet.

Oh dear, I think I need to group with at least 2 other Paladins at all times then -- we can run cold, energy and mind and be completely safe. Look and wave at the enemy and get our deckchairs out while everyone else gets on with the unseemly fighting business

Hib pbaoe might still be cold damage in our patch but it is changed soon.
Runecarving is energy

Currently RC bolts are cold I'm fairly sure, dunno if/when they get changed though. Seen several places claiming energy for mana spec in hib too, but my eldritch spells definitely said cold.
As you say, they may well change soon.

RC bolts are energy, their DD in sup is cold i believe. hibs id keep heat resist on, due to their light spec DDs

Depends on the hibs, a lot of eldritchs and a fair few chanters are going to be doing cold damage (void/mana). Mentalists will do heat though.
