Paladin spec

i've used a 2 handed slash and S+B paladins

RvRing with my 2 handed paladin i've beaten orange con thanes and skalds solo before(twisting chants) but exping/PvEing i was a bit of a let down with no shield(i didn't realise this till i played S+B)

i was dealing around 250 damage per hit with my 2 handed sword on a mid

ive respeced to 39slash/42sheild/48chants. losing 77spec points to thrust and having gimpy styles just aint worth it i reckon. if only you gotten free autotrains

imo 2 things are a must for any paladin on rvr:

42 shield - for slam
46 chant - for last multible resist chant

with that in mind, my spec will be:

slash: 44
shield: 42
chant: 46
parry: 3

as for going 50 slash - it´s not worth it imo, why not u ask?

1: pallys primary task in a grp is to protect the others, especially the casters. with this in mind, the style u will use almost all the endurance on is slam, not a sword style (and no, u are not supposed to slam some one and then stand and try to kill him, u slam him and go to slam another, letting others kill without being interrupted).

2: no matter what style u use, ur not gonna kill any opponent fast. pallys are not build to deal good damage, so dont try and make them do that, if u wanted to deal good damage u should have chosen armsman or mercenary. the defensive capabilities lost far outweights the offensive capabilities gained by going 50 slash imo.

if pally is defensive then why only 3 parry and 44 slash?

well, ur a tank, the enemy wont go for u first, so parry is not as needed as the additional damage u deal when using sword. some battles last long or have few opponents allowing u to use the sword. besides, when the shield bug has been fixed having 50+ in shield should block enough (with RR and items), allowing u to see parry as a "free" bonus
