Paladin spec and race?

1)Which spec do u think is the best;
42 shield, 44 slash, 46 chants, 3 parry
46 shield, 39 slash, 46 chants, 8 parry
50 shield, 34 slash, 46 chants, 7 parry

2)Which race, highlander or sarcen?
The saracen's 30 extra dex gives (30*0,1=3) 3% better blocking while 20 extra str the highlander got gives pretty much weaponskill.

3)Is is worth using Enrage-Sapphire Slash chain and Back Slash or is it better just to spam Amethyst?

^^^ what he said I'm respecing to this from 39 slash / 48 chants as soon as i get myself a respec stone. As a pally you need every bit of weapon skill possible. I'm a briton cause i can't stand wearing plate with a kilt ><

go highlander with + 10 to str con n dex

only way to get that spec is to get slash and chants auto-trained to 12 at level 48 then respec into it.

Meaning you probably have to spec crush and shield ONLY and be gimped till you hit 48 its possible but u would need friends to help yer level or get powerleveled at later levels.

Its not hard to do the first 20 or so levels just speccing crush and shield though but you cant use /level or you lose autotrain.

Also you need a higher weapon spec to have any chance of hitting slam since your shield attacks are based off your main hands weapon skill. In other words if you got bad weapon skill you will miss with slam more often then not.

good spec atleast i would think so just hard to pull off.

44 slash, don't do it for the style. Amythyst is really teh best alltime style, and with 39 slash you can do around the same dmg. (+11 items, +x RR, etcetc). And slam hits often enuf.. i've tried 50 slash, didn't really notice the difference with slam landing more often.


39 slash, 42 Shield. That's the most important.
Then choose if you want to have the last AF chant, or more parry (then pick 46 chants).

Atleast, go for the looks ;P If you can stand the scottisch looks of the Highlander, take a briton.
If you go Saraceen you're survival chances slightly decrease (ppl pick a saraceen shielder before a Highlander shielder). In the end it doesn't matter all that much due to buffing and SC etc.

Absolutely love it.

WS difference from when I was 39 slash was something like 50, not worth it imv compared to 15 extra parry.

And Briton for better block / parry, or Highlander for higher hp. That call is completely up to you.

Erm, yeah. Not used by pala's with serious mental problems.

With last AF chant you get armor factor of 975, the highest of any class in the game and you'll block/parry plenty as well.

Choose either highlander for slightly higher HP's and weapskill, or briton for slightly better block/parry. Saracen isn't even an option imo.

As for spec, 48 chants, 39 slash, 42 shield, 15 parry.

That'll give you top AF chant, backslash, slam. Get MoBlock, MoParry, FH, and as you get higher RR some MoPain isn't a bad thing either.

all those specs suck, ( even tho i didnt read them all)

48 chants, 42 shield, 29 slash, 30+ parry

29 slash is OK, you aint gonna have f all weaponskill anyways, so might as well, block/parry like a whore. and this leaves you with 2 styles, which is just about manageable when your twisting 4-5 chants, and switching guard etc

ra's make the paladin, FH , purge and MOB/MOP all the way

slash and chants autotrain too 12 when you reach level 48 like i already said plus i dont know why anyone would spec parry high cuz there is very little difference to how much u parry with 11 parry too 30 parry ... keep slash high so u got good enough weapon skill to hit slam more often n hit them high level mobs
