As far as windows goes, photoshop sits and masturbates on paintshops head from on high.

That is to say, paintshop is rancid.

I can't use Photoshop, it's too difficult. I suppose I could learn it, but what's the point? :)

I gotta cd wiv photoshop, freehand 9, fireworks 3, dw 3, illustrator 8, director 7, flash 4 and a couple more gimpish ones if anyone wants a copeh. some of em are oldeh now but it saves the warez d/l.

It's easy. It's common sense. If anything, PSP is harder because it's more a coders design package than a designers design package, if you red me.

Really? Thats odd... I dont have Photoshop, but someone on IRC mentioned about it being the one with design macros and such. I have PSP6 and it's simple as cheese

From a proffesional perspective (haha) Photoshop is the dogs balls, its powerful its fast and its oooooo so spinky. PSP on the other hand is a lot clunkier and has far too many gimmicks for me, but, its good for joe public (or gremlin) cos lets face it, who wants to learn a shitload of functions just to save all that porn. (btw, acdsee if great for browsing large collections of images...stock photos of course, yes, uhm, heh)

Speaking from experience if you want to do graphics professionally then the way to go is Photoshop/ImageReady (they come together) and for vertex stuff Illustrator. It's the dogs bollocks for creating some really high quality images with minimal effort. I started off way back in the day using PSP 4, I thought it was fantastic and swore my life on it, PS seemed too clunky for me so after a brief demo of it i quickly ditched it. That was until the infamous PS master RobertJ showed me the way and educated me in some cool PS features. I've never looked back since. I've now been using photoshop for over 2 years and i'm still finding new features in it. The odd occasion i use PSP is mainly for some pixel work on icons etc.

PS, if you try getting a graphics job and say your tool of preference is PSP, your just gonna get laughed at, a lot.
