WTF? Overlays severly darkening monitor

Only started doing this in last day or 2, possibly since last update? but i think it was longer ago.. anyway

THOUGHTS ?

using any sort of overlay darkens the shit out of the monitor, including things like ingame menus in some cases

first one darkens, second more so, and it looks brighter in screeny than it actually is when fullscreen

doing it in WT and WoW, havent tried anything else yet
