Governments will have to start doing stuff that the Chinese do, and start taxing parents if they have multiple children, otherwise we'll have a serious problem.

Was looking at the population of major cities in History the other day, you should all look at it, it's deeply worrying..

Thought this was about London transport.

But yes, too many people. We need to stop breeding and have a cull of all the spackers. These two will never happen though, "think of the sanctity of life!", "everyone's life is special and to be treasured!" - No it's not, life is a series of coincidences that's happened to occur and that we happen to be a part of. It's special and unique but that doesn't make US special and unique.

The day the police kick my door down & tell me I am required by law to accomodate 40 immigrants in my house due to global overcrowding is the day I'll give a monkeys. Until then.....

Profit from charging them all rent because it's not compulsory for you to house them by law?

All this worrying, the Earth is mostly empty and living people are just atoms temporarily turned into meat.

We are defeating all our natural predictors. Hunger, disease, old age. ofc we are running out of room/ability to feed ourselves. Everything is finite.

I dont think we really are - people still starve. We did well against disease with the rise of antibiotics but we are now starting to lose that battle as everything becomes resistant. Old age - we are living longer in the UK but we also spend a lot longer unable to care for ourselves at the end - I also see the growth flattening out pretty soon.

Blah blah blah. Look up Malthusianism. Look up The Club of Rome. People having saying the same thing for literally centuries. And yet here we are defying the odds.

Do I think there are too many people? Yes. Do I think we're clever enough to solve the problem without wiping out 2/3 of humanity? Yes.

I guess Gaffer has a point.. Running a Industrial country would've seemed impossible... I mean, a minority working in factories, and a majority farming, then moving to a majority in factories and a minority farming, seems ludicrous(sp?-cbatocheckm8), but I guess technology advances meant that this was possible, and I'm sure there will be ways around this.. multi-floor farming? :p
