Guys we run our outlook of an SMTP exchange server iirc...not a pop3 one for the whole company

i am getting this error message when i use the "View another user's calendar" feature, if you go File Open Other users folder it normallly does open but how can i resolve this problem.....atm the File open way also does not work

The problem i am unsure of as some people can and some people cant view the other users calendar.....below is the error message

"Microsoft outlook returned error code 0x1000 at routine GetSharedDefaultFolder."

Do you use 'Exchange server' on your mail server?

EDIT: re-read and saw that you do. I would imagine that the server is not configured correctly. Not much help tho sorry. Been awile since I used the exchange software.

Yeah this could be a possibilty. XP manages user profiles slightly differently than 2000 though they are both based on the NT framework. Are the users set up to login via their NT profile or are seperate outlook accounts used? If each user connects to outlook using their %UserName% connection it should be hunky, as default folders should be found. To be honest my knowldge isnt up to date on exchange so its probably best to get expert advice. If this is a non standard error and has just started to occur and work prior I would suggest (like all microsoft products ;) ) restarting the server.

Are you and the other users using the latest SP for outlook? Possibly could be a version incompatiablity but again a guess.

the users use their NT username/pw and the versions are all exactly the same as they dont have sufficient rights to update etc.
