it's a lot yes, but it's also very slow (which is why an armsman isn't overpwoered compared to say, a 1.60 zerker). I've fought a few polearmsmen and I tend to get 2-3 swings in between theirs with me being unbuffed.. could prob manage 4 if I was buffbotted.

quickness debuffing a polearmsman is the worst case scenario :)

its like a buff for them really.

its also a lvl 50 style 2nd in a chain so you would expect high dmg from it :) and that sure is a nice hit

When you quadhit someone... lets say for... 300, 200, 200, 200 ... do they get the "**** hits you for *** damage" 4 times or just "**** hits you for 900 damage" ?

Polearms are only useful for frontloading. Debuffing dex/quick for arms = ty u v much sir I will land my 800+ while my merc mate takes the last remaining hps.

I find Reavers are best to frontload with thou as he slams + levi's and I am free to pump my pole into the person :D

Its not a buff but ur giving the arms what he wants :p , I know I would espically with my /assist buddy or 2 ^^

the best thing is armsman are considered by alot of people (or most/all) to be underpowered, not fearing the nerfbat etc.

They can hit for 900 on a spellcrafted Tank with capped resists and fully buffed and be considered underpowered etc.

its true that a lower quickness increases the damage with each strike, but they strike slower there for doing less damage in the long run?

so technicly if a person is only able to tank 2 hits (6 seconds per hit) from an armsman instead of 3 hits(5 seconds her hit)

not taking into account the armsman missing 3 or 4 times due to 6 sec pbt :p

that is good, the best i ever did was 600 on a level 50 when i was 45. 3 times in a row aswell not just 1 hit :D

Most melee classes that use a two handed weapon can get that kind of damage with the right equipment and RR etc. Always nice to see them crit damage screenshots, cant take it as a norm though and cry nerf, zerkers for example.

Skald damage with a two handed sword for example, http://borka.nu/pzyc/dmg.jpg

yes but that's the point, you *do* have to take into account hat you'll likely be facing pbt (afterall if a champ has debuffed you, odds are his warden buddy has that 6sec pbt ticking)

oh and the kind of polearm you must be using to hit that hard you swing a looooooot slower than every 6 seconds if debuffed. as i said, unbuffed I have swung 3 times between a debuffed pole users attacks. and you know what? whilst the hit hurt a lot the 3 hits I did hurt a helluva a lot more. Now imagine if I was buffed with dex/qui and purple haste buff. hitting 5 times in between might even be possible at a stretch

That was a fantastic fight against the hibbies in that screenie. I think a group of 7 of us wiped maybe 1.5fg hibs or more. /flex

If you look you'll see Kandig had 5 tanks on him at one stage and stayed standing. We had BoF & SB up plus some great healing but still good going

If your attacking an Armsman we have already lost the battle :D
(or you've lost your mind :p)

I reckon kandig would have lived without any heals then.. BoF+SB+plate.. 5 tanks do maybe 200 dmg combined max per round? oh so scary

still, well done beating superior numbers :)

the screenshot is entirely possible without qui debuff - switching from 83 to 50 quickness increased most of my damage caps by 60-100, and i use a faster polearm than what the armsmen in the screenshot did... So, 50 qui 5.8ish speed (i think it said hammer, and i dont know the exact swing speed on those) would mean a cap of about 800+ with aegis, capped +polearm and decent realm rank :p
