I was stunned aswell by those dmg values, did some more nukes after that first bad nuke and to my amazement it was still very very low (25 dmg) didnt see his health bar move :/

Resists are insane ..... i got some 200-300ish hits (and thats really low for light nukes). Spellcrafting will only make that worse -> byebye to all the mages out there

I am not really complaning, just thought it was funny. I can't complain when BoF means heros hit me for about 50 and yesterday a SB PA'd me for 80. Unfortunately, it only lasts 30 seconds every 30 minutes :/

Did he respec his abilities on Gorre? get avoidance of magic 5 and The Empty Mind 3?

Wasn't on Gorre. Was on Excali after patch. Like I said, Zerkers hit me for 40/50 in bear mode when I use BoF so I am not whining, I just thought it was funny. I hope there was an active RA involved, but I am used to crazy high spirit resists.

Nevertheless Celts and Elfs do have 5% racial resistance to Spirit.

With Spirit resist maxed it gives 31% (26+5) and lets calculate with Avoidance of magic lvl 3 its 40% and with a warden with 48 in nurture it further +24% - if it don't have a hard cap, that will bring it to 64%..

Making 25damage is still very unlikely to happen, even with res. sickness and having the last DD in theurgist Vapormancy line.

The Realm Ability "The Empty Mind" has a further 10% boost to magical resistance pr. lvl - though its very very expensive (6 - 10 -14).

Lets say he has capped his spirit resist and a warden with 48 nurture has buffed him and he has used 30RSp on "The Empty Mind", he could have 91% spirit resist.

My question:

Have you looked at the wrong number? Or are you on very strong medication???. Or has Elea decided that he want to own all casters for 30sec every 30min????

Firstly, GOA don't do balancing - tis Mythic's job.
Secondly, tanks now have a little bit of a chance against mages - they're no longer sitting ducks. it comes down to character level, RAs, spec and skill. (probably in that order cynical git that I am)

erm its the items cap that is at 26%, which means you can "only" have a Maximum of 26% in each resist from ITEMS, then you can go alot higher with RAs, Natural resistances, Buffs and so on

Well, clearly it was a case of meeting a Hib group with full Warden resist buffs up (24% to body, spirit and energy), and a bard running spirit resist song (20%). Add 26% spirit from items, 5% from race, whatever level of AoM, and you can easily imagine 85-90% spirit resist running around without any active RAs being used.


Good job Clerics and Paladin resist buffs and chants also stack together. Shame that most Clerics out there will only have the 16% resists even after respec and Paladins only have the 10% resist chants, giving Alb groups 20% less resists than Hib groups (not even going into the ease of finding resist items in Hib)

Can promise you that 90% of all wardens don't have 1 point above lvl46 - which means that only body resistance will get a 24% boost, rest is 16% like your clerics.
