Mainly use Recundis on most games.

Was playing Roleplay Warhammer and needed a name, was studying Latin in school at the time and took my real name Raymond added in some Latin and come up with Recundis :)

Belgerath is a slighty different spelling of Belgarath from the David Eddings books.

I'm not gonna say old but...

Ah well, might as well.

old comes from sticking to the old. name after the forum/name change.

Tohtori means Doctor. Been around since first game i ever played with the option to type in name. Re-returned to my use in DAoC(healer).

Comes from my weird compulsion to "help" people in games

Disclaimer: Helping does include bullet to brain for corrective surgery.

Ummmmmm mainly use Ashimar in most games, that came about from when I was doing some DnD and was using their Character Generator program. Clicked it a few times and bam up comes Ashimar. Thought it sounded awesome so I stuck with it. Plus with the 2nd name "Bloodcrest" it actually sounds fantasy style.

Uara came from an immature moment in DAoC when I thought it would be funny to have the Name: Uara Idiot, surname promptly got removed by the higher beings obviously and then used the surname Soulstorm instead which worked well with me being a necro.

I then have various variations on those names when I make alts. Ashimaro,Ashimara,Uisa,Uaro etc

Watched the film Snatch, promptly created a Nightshade.

Ever since my chars have been either a variation on that name; Pikescy- VW, Vampikeh- Vampiir, etc.

Also gone by the name EscapePlan in D2 (after the band Dillinger Escape Plan) also Darkly which I use in most single player games, which I got from PCgamer one year when they did a feature on a guy leveling up in DAoC, thought it was a pretty cool name.

My very very first online name used in TFclassic was NapoleonBlownapart.

Female version of Helm Hammerhand for my Female Warrior,(the guy who built Helms Deep in LotR).

Don't really use this name anymore tho, I have changed it to Puffin now! because its quite possibly the coolest bird ever.

Corum was my first online character in an MMO. It was from the MIchael Moorcock eternal champion series. Erekrose was my second character which is a miss spelling of another incarnation of the eternal champion, that did considerably better an that is my normal online name in most games now.

Rubric came about when i was banned from Freddyshouse back in the day for my annoying limericks. It came up on a thesaurus as an alternative word for incognito. Believe it actual means a title in red or something.

OverDriven (Not to do with the guitar) was something to do with the ability to work and deal with pressure with no major issues and have a really bizarre imagination at the most unusual of times. :) No other reason, came to use it near a decade ago, fun :D

My online name is the satanic love-child of Jar-Jar Binks and Anakin Skywalker.

Or well, I just randomly thought it up for a character I was making back while playing Xwing vs. Tie Fighter before JarJar and Anakin even existed... oh well! :(

Maeloch was a spellcaster I played in the Arthurian roleplaying campaign 'Pendragon' wayback. It was probably the best, most fun and longest lasting one I'd played in - him and his knightly sidekick 'Ronan the Rhymer' got up to all manner of highjinx and ended up taking over half of North Wales. It turned into a tabletop wargame in the end. Maeloch ended up stuck in form of a dragon or someshit in a bodged shapeshifting attempt and was last at large flying about the Welsh mountains, he was about as much use at that as the second one was at charming.

I just swiped the 'Mael' prefix from some other celtic name. It was a common prefix, it means 'slave' or 'servant' in gaelic - the 'loch' bit I got from another name, I can't remember. Funny enuff my irl surname starts with 'Gille' which is also Gaelic for slave.

Probably more that anyone is interested, but once I started had to get it off my chest..

Well, one half is my name, the other half is a bit piece of anger.

Samaroon though, I thought of that name when i started Daoc, without the use of a random name generator, unlike you unimaginative folk! ;)

Wasn't there a thread like this a while back? anyway Cerberus was the 3 headed hound that guarded the gates of hell in some mythology which when i was like 15 and started playing daoc i thought was cool...everyone in-game used to just call me Cerb for short and it just kinda stuck...

I came up with my name through the playstyle i used loooong time ago, post DaoC. Fettoken basically means "mad fatso".
Fetgalningen derives from Fettoken, whic i also used in DaoC, means "fat crazy bastard". When i think about it, i'd been much better off with name generator :D

Gamle Doktorn.... the name makes sense now, thanks to your expertise in home treatment i can avoid expensive hospital bills ;)

Well my english skills was very poor at those times (still is now tho :s) but anyways i had just watched the godfather triology and was really in to the whole mafia thing. So i made my first char on a friends acct and couldnt think of a good name so i just called him Adon ( A don ) and that was just the nick i started using creating different versions of it like adonir and adonix, when i registered at FH i was playing my savage adonix as a main so i just went with that. Had the nick for soo long now that some of my friends refer to me as "ado" :\ wich is rather lame.

Started in diablo 2 when I used to play online as a barbarian called khayadarin, derived from an upgrade in starcraft :D. When I played an assassin, with their gender specific classes, I chose a female name, Kirennia but I have no idea why that specific name came about. I started playing daoc and chose a female cleric because it'd mean I could keep the name, without fully realising that in MMOs people tended to relate gender of your class to your gender irl in the early days.

A number of 'interesting' conversations later, I learnt my mistake but kept with the old avalonian cleric because I'd gotten to a decent level. Every class chosen from then on, I either chose a short female or tall male according to how much I thought the character should be targetted in rvr and just put up with some of the more obscure comments. So in hindsight, it was probably a good choice for a cleric as I could hide easier but if I had of thought of just adding an 'n' to the end of the name before clicking accept, it probably would have been a male character.

Or in fact, if I had of chosen the right class in the first place instead of going for a tri-spec sorc (/sigh) I would've been called Khayadarin on these boards still.

Character from Mike Singleton's Doomdark's revenge - superb and somewhat classic origin of what was to become in the form of MMO's later on the history of gaming software. The game was one of the most well known on the ZX spectrum in the 1980's.

The other name I used was something I cooked up myself. Arcsalin was like a broken word that I thought of. Arc (self explanitory) and salin - poison so arcpoison or archpoison - quite an apt name for a nightshade imo :)

TdC is short for Testin' da Cable, as I went from a 33k6 modem to a one mbit cable modem back in the day and it blew me away. I sometimes call myself Teedles or Teeds thanks to people on this forum giving me that name (when logins don't allow usersnames of three chars for example), and there is Gil'Druhn Ironhand/Stonehand/Silverleaf/whatever for all other rgp chars :)
