I think I have a lev31 Sorc cloth (1x MP, 5x 99%) - still need staff and
SCing on all items - but I will need to confirm before you start on this
one.

(I think you suggested lev31 gear to more easily cap BG1 SC, this is fine
with me, assume all chars will have Gem of the Spirit Abhorrent, as I have
several of the buggers lying around, when you SC for resists)

Gem stats are:

Matter/Body/Heat/Energy resist 7%

My in-game chars are Aeoric & Raeth, I'll be on Weds/Fri and over the w/e

AFAIK the Gem of Spirit Abhorrent will not work for lvl 24 chars, you will get the "the power of xxx fails to effect You" message.
