Yay

Plus, get an MS one. You get a free replacement every 6 months by phoning them and saying "it's jittering about, triedit on 5 different pcs"

voila, new mouse in the post 2 days later

the word used to be that wireless mice would give you a slight amount of lag.
that, and they're a tad heavy due to the batteries.

Someone from my clan has a wireless one and i heard nothing but complaints from him.

Get a normal MS intellimouse explorer or optical. Much better than a ball mouse and you can turn off the lights and to hand shadow patterns on the wall.

Spending £45 on a mouse is unequivocally tragic.

i don't see the point in wireless mice/keyboards at all, the only hassle they really save is having one less wire dangling around behind your desk.

Which for me, who keeps treading on my keyboard wire and watching my keyboard fly off the back of my desk, it is amusing but potentially tragic. I recond a K/B may be ok - but then, it may not. Certainly would never touch a wireless mouse for a games machine - for a dev. only machine though I could see the benefits.

yeah that's true enough, as well as offices where you've got people wandering around your workspace. though for game use, or personal use i'd probably get pissed off with losing signal/batteries dying midgame or something :]

Wireless mice suck for gaming, cos they only sample at 40Hz, so moving about is as jerky as feck.

USB samples at 125 which is yum :)

Me uses Micro$haft Intelli Explorer. Partly because its the only 5 button mouse that CS recognises as actually having all 5 buttons.

Can anyone recommend a nice optical mouse that is small enough to carry around with me laptop.

I saw a nice kensington mouse which had a retractable usb cable but they only sell it in the US :(

The Intelli Optical's about as small as you'll get tbh, unless there's some obscure optical mini-mouse knocking around. It's USB and pretty nifty. As mentioned above it's what I use for my main PC, and I'm getting a lappy in 2 months, and I'll use it on it as well.
