BTW - The 2nd film ends pre-Shelob, so we have to wait to next year to see her.

Aye, but the good news is she looks just like I imagined her in the book.

Have a look at the FotR dvd extras, and you can see the plasticine model they're using for the CG scan :)

Excuse me for being pedantic, but contrary to hints from the producers as to the truthfullness of the events on which EATG is based, a leading authority on the Battle of Stalingrad, Antony Beevor, has stated that Zaitev did exist, and was in Stalingrad, the major did exist, but sadly never went anywhere near Stalingrad, nor is there any evidence of any such super sniper

But since when has Hollywood let the truth get in the way of a good story.

BTW the Stalingrad book by A. Beevor (couldn't resist that) is a damn good read

Most of vassili Zaitsev's kills came from shooting Nazis refilling their water bottles, he claims to have killed a man who was head of the sniper school in Berlin but it was never proven, and he was used for a morale boost during the battle of Stalingrad, as for the battle of Stalingrad, I'm pretty sure he was there considering the red army relied on sharpshooters and guerilla tactics to keep the Germans from taking the city all together, they held positions so small the Germans couldn't bomb them for few of killing their own men, the red army eventually managed to encircle the Germans during operation uranus **snigger** in Stalingrad and cut off their supplies untill the Germans surrendered which is how they won.

Does anyone else find the title REALLY annoying? Can't we just let this thread die? Aparently other forum members are laughing at how stupid you are for spelling 'Opinion' wrong (I'm not laughing, I think they're rude and should apologise!)
