US sure seems to be wanting it real bad for some reason, Bush needs <its always good for the coming campaign> to show what he can do with the military to justify his Republican spendings policy.

But theres a but UN dont want it, Russia dont want it..... noone else wants it really, besides it wont be a war just US invading virtually defenseless Iraq + the "efficient" bombing results of which we have seen in Kosovo etc....... <when they levelled a Hospital thinking it was military premises>

Yep... I think it will happen at some stage over the next 12 months.

Even if the US gets no more Allies than they have already... the seeds of justifiable cause are being/have been sown.

Every day now we see people like Donald "Big D" Rumsfeld on the news telling us they have yet another "unconfirmed" intelligence report that Iraq has been used as a training base for members of Al Q'aeda or that High ranking members of that organisation have been given safe haven within Iraq.

Bush has publically stated on many occasions that any State giving safe haven to these people will be attacked. In the eyes of many Americans, this is all the justification he needs. And if he doesnt do this then he will look like a bit of a wussy-pants.

Iran will protest but secretly they will breathe a huge sigh of relief, Turkey will say nothing at all and will allow some of its sovereign territory to be used in the staging of the attacks (as it does now with the no fly zones over Northern Iraq), Russia will protest and start throwing its toys out of the pram but as the Russian Army now consists of 2x 40 year old Tanks, half a division of 16 year old school boy conscripts who thought they were signing up for membership of the Kylie Minogue fanclub and a field hospital in Murmansk I think protest is all they can do.

The best the US can hope for is that Russia imposes export sanctions on them.

Yep a US led coalition WILL go to war with Iraq to finish the job that was started (and should have finished) with Desert Storm. The goal of Liberating Kuwait was too small a resolution/mandate by the UN and understandably politically compromised by the gulf state alliance which was felt necessary at the time. I for one believe, that due to the political instability in the region (enhanced by Iraq itself) and the events of 11/09/01 that its no longer necessary to have such an Alliance and that Bush will use his "War on Terrorism" rhetoric to justify whatever action he feels necessary against whichever "Rogue State" he feels deserves a spanking.

To do anything else at this stage will cost him votes and probably the Presidency... and of course his Daddy will whupp him like a red headed step-child.

edit: we have nuff tanks and its olny infantry that doesnt get nuff money/equipment, you tried defending borders of a Republic taking up entire bloody continent ?? We have a 3 million army to support. conscription age is 18.
As for "all we can do" crap, yes we are old and forgot how to fight properly, but dont you recall the point when a Russian Motorised division occupied a strategic airfield near Kosovo in 1 day beating every other division that was by the way station 30 miles away from the bloody field ? edit: corruption is everywhere, Russia isnt USSR, immigratns are mainly from the middle east. Primary Export = Natural/ Refined Resources. Secondary export = arms, AK-47, T-72. The reason you see 40 year old tanks in Iraq tells you the fact that Russia sells off old military units nothing else. Iraqi cannot operate the new ones, they werent taught how to do that :)

If so, wouldnt he be interessted in increased raw oil prices ?
If so, is it possible that he's responsible for the 9/11 attacks, in order to justifice an assult on al q'aeda, so he later on could claim they get safe haven in Iraq, so he could justifice an assult on Iraq and increase they Raw Oil prices and get filthy rich ?

Hmm good point lol, if not a bit extreme. Texas as far as i know is an Oil state...... So if PPB increases they make alot more money but at the same time that would mean an inflation in the US economy all round. Meaning MrPres sux00rz big time, meaning he gets rich and he doesnt get reelected, although in Bs case i dont see him as a candidate for next presidency tbh :)

< actually its rather common to have a summer house in Russia, my family has a couple, one really far away like 120 miles from Moscow where you can actually go fishing, and breathe fresh air. One 30 miles away, where you can spend time in a sauna, play pool....and erm other stuff that you do at night.....>
