Slow day at work so I thought I'd try to get a game of Mornington Crescent going. Please refer to the Little Book of Mornington Crescent if you're unfamiliar with the rules. We'll be playing Old Etonian Rules, no Boxing and with Lateral moves available only below the Thames. Please be sure to explain your moves to help any beginners who might be keen to play.

I'll start with the traditional opening;

Charing Cross

Offering unparalleled bridging between the Strand and Whitehall, the chances of Fogging are minimal and the next player is forced into a non-Lateral jump which puts them at a distinct disadvantage. Plus the 7,5 letter name will help if the game goes to a non-scored tiebreak.

On your own with this one it seems

Yeah, I had high hopes for this thread, but it seems like no-one else shares my appreciation of classic panel games. It just sucks :p

A link to rules might help, or some other info.

Well...that's a tricky question...I can't really answer it without giving away the "secret" of the game. You kind of have to already know the secret to get the game :p

That's probably why you won't get any action on it.

How can people even start playing a game, if you can't tell anything about it :D

The appeal of the game on the radio is that the performers know the rules, but the audience don't. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that the performers know the secret but the audience don't...

Does it have to be London?

L,Enfant plaza.
Not far from defence center which is many sided, walkable to the mall and the right side of potomac. Bonus point if you can get to silver spriing with no changes. By old etonian you now cant use red line and only exits with doors opening on the left allowed.

Ah ok, it's one of those things :p

I always found the secret society games to be really contradictive with the "beginners" thing, but who knows, maybe there are some here who know.

I'll follow up the original post with:

Liverpool Street

Which opens up the point switch at Holborn and the Kings Cross Sidings Gambit.
