Seeing as there is a thread about TV being TRIPE, here is (regardless of your opinion) one to share your good experiences about. I'd also like to hear about what people are going to watch.

Tonight, I'll be mostly watching The Empire Pays Back.

There was Midnight Cowboy on last night which looked interesting, but it was on a bit too late for me so I didn't catch it all.

The lack of response to this thread is kinda amusing. So much for British TV not being poo. :(

Interesting you bringing up the Sci Fi channel, you can sometimes get good pulp fiction and short horror stories / scifi films (made for TV) on there. They go from ok to crap, I watched that Deep Evil the other night about the alien life form they had in that disused mine / lab, cheap as chips but the story was ok. You could argue it was predictable and I guessed half way through but it was ok given the budget etc, I thought the directing for an ultra low budget film was good.

These smaller channels serve a purpose like smaller football teams, they can give people a break into the big time, they sort of separate the wheat from the chaf. One day directing Killer Spiders Attack, the next the Matrix. :p

Who doesn't like Ray Bradbury's Theatre or the Outer Limits..lol Cheap as dog turd but sometimes quite clever little stories. :)

I also watched Deep Evil it followed Princess Bride, I agree was somewhat predictable but then again not many movies nowadays are any different. But I enjoyed it and it kept me interested.

I've not been watching much TV lately. I will go out of my way to watch "Egyptian Journeys with Dan Cruickshank" in which an old guy with big coat runs about telling stories and giving historical insights in a slightly gruff voice as he has done before, though hopefully not donning the coat for his desert romp, showing BBC2 today (sunday) 22:00-22:30.
"Audition" is on C4 00:05-02:10, a brilliant and bizarre japanese horror flick. It is followed by "Earth vs The Spider", a remake of an old B-Movie with Dan ackroyd in it. Dan Akroyd owns you. 02:10-03:45 ... should be good. ;)

Sometimes I think I ought to get my own TV now I've moved out.

(And then I get distracted by something and realise I can't be bothered.)

Broken News - BBC2 9:30pm Mondays.

Weird, quite difficult to watch - it makes the fast show look pretty stationary. I watched & liked the first episode last week but I'm not sure what it can offer for the rest of it's series.
