dont be silly, they havn't put anything in the patch notes about smiting nerf, and theres no whines on camelotvault ;d

Thats is a extract from the 1.51 notes , everybody knows patch 1.51 comes with the 1.52 :
- The Cleric Smite line was re-tuned to bring this specific class/skill
combination into line with other healers. The primary change was a reduction to the direct damage spells (single target and AE), which were doing the equivalent damage to a nuker direct damage spells. This was inappropriate due to offensive and defensive melee capabilities of the Cleric. The Heavenly Strike line (AE DD) now has had its radius increased to 350 at all levels, however.

If i see nukers hitting me for 300 (i had 44 in smite) i would piss my self laughing at them
the highest nuke i have been hit for is 700... I havnt even done HALF that with smite... Pfff @ Mythic

and oh yes ^^ Smite does hurt
Found out during our little duel on 1.52... not AS powerfull as before.. but still useable.... i would have won though!! hehe i want you to know that!!

The smite's been reduced by about 20% - it's still not a bad spec line, just not quite what it used to be.
That said, if you have smite between 43 and 47 you'll have improved in this patch (the highest single DD went from 48 to 43, which resulted in a boost for those who didn't quite make the 48 but made the 43, everyone else with a little bit in smite is reduced in damage)
The thing that annoyed most of the clerics was the timer change on the pbaoe mezz - it went to 5m instead of 30s

It actually is a pretty useless specline, damage aside it has no utility so what use is a specline for a x1.0 class only meant to do damage but failing to do so?
