So, I've noticed something weird about my computer. When i spend time there, it.. darkens my mind. My hunger is also completely negated, but as soon as i leave it, my stomach starts to whine. Evil!!

It's true and i have a rather valid theory on why this is.

When we're moving, doing stuff, etc, our body notices that we need energy and as such, we hunger for..well...stuff. Vampires need not apply.

When we sit on th computer, we mainly use our brain. Hell, fingers clicking stuff hardly is "energy wasting".

And as such, our body goes into a "sleep like" state with the bare minimum to keep us sitting upright and moving the mouse/tapping the keyboard.

When we re-initialise our motions and start using our muscles, the body waes up, and akin to waking up from sleep, it lets you know that you need hydration/sustanance.

Well, i do swing my body to the tones of Caramelldansen (energy wasting included) from time to time, other than that you have a valid theory going.

your brain uses a huge amount of energy though, even while sleeping your burning about 80 calories an hour just from dreaming :p

imagine how busy it gets if your thinking of the next big FH thread!

For me? After all these years? I'd like to assume that i don't even think about posting on FH and it's more like breathing :D

Toht is actually on the right track. But it depends if it's something interesting. I can sit at the PC for hours and be fine and ignore basic "survival" (minus breathing) but then, sometimes it's like "cba" and body goes into "hmm.. might to actually live" mode where you're not really distracted enough *nod*

Aye, there needs to be interest for the brain to overcome the basic needs.

Ever notice that you're sitting on the computer, doing nothing, and just going totally into a coma? Aka, "zone out"?

You usually can't even remember what you were thinking about. This kind of relates to my "sleep" reference. When there's nothing interesting, nothing going on, you start to "dream".
