Usually if no information is given in the payment instructions the seller should find out your policy on returns before they bid,

This is a bit freaky, cos I got this Stylophone from this girly who reckons it worked when she sent it, but it dosnt anymore. :p

No, seriously, Im in the middle of an email war with a guy who sent me an Athlon 1.3 tbird which was covered in thermal paste. When I cleaned it off I found the ceramic chip was cracked clean across the face, obviously it aint gonna work, so I mailed him, but he reckons I broke it fitting the HS&F, I havnt even fitted the ruddy thing.

My £50 has gone, and Im stuck with a broken chip.

Well, he's mailed it back to me, and I'm going to have to refund him. I'm pissed off about it, cos it was working when i sent it, and I've spent the money and so I've been delivering shitty leaflets with the genetically challenged all week just to earn back the money to refund him, my calf muscles have locked and I can't shift the awful smell they (THEY BEING THE OTHER LEAFLET PEOPLE, DAMN YOU PEDANT CHILD WILIER!!!) generate after walking all day, I think its burnt into my nostrils, and I've been treated like a villanous shite by this guy too. I'm hardly likely to sell someone a non working stylophone in the hope they'd never notice.

Hate.

Sod refunding him, did you ask him to send it back to you? As far as Im concerned he broke it so tough shit basically. If he wants to send it back to you for some bizarre reason thats his affair.

Why on Earth would you consider refunding someone for something that wasn't even broken in the first place?

Because I don't want the hassle and being labelled scum and to have to deal with all the negative feed back and etcetera etcetera. I'll get Kenny to examine said stylophone when he gets home, and see if it is broken and if he can fix it. I wanna keep on selling things on e-bay (I'm quite good with the videos now) so I can't really have SHE AER TEH RIPP OFF SCUM sitting in there with my "Very nice E-bayer A+++" feed back :(

I'm going to contact Royal Mail as well, because I posted it insured, so if it broke while being delivered maybe they can pay to get it fixed. Or something. [/pathetically hopeful]

If you sent it insured the postal service will refund you...I got a refund anyway.

They are pretty good.

Surely it has been sold, since he recieved it and I cashed the cheque. It's just after this point it all turned awkward and evil.

almost all sellers accept personal cheques, its just a bit of a trust thing because, mostly, they cash the cheque before sending the goods. So if you recieve damaged goods, your pretty much goosed.

I use PayPal for my purchases now (after my athlon rip off) cos my card is insured, and you can (in most cases) get your money back from VISA.
