Minstrel is going to climb the wall and aoe mezz....

5.5 secs aoe cast time, pretty damn easy to interupt that, I don't even need to use insta's - it gives me 3.5 seconds to /face and cast my ST mezz. Then what's he gonna do? SoS off the wall? hehehehehe.

Most of the stuff that they were given this patch(not last patch) is crap, if I was a tincan, I would be pissed off.

Basically they got a chant, and evade 3. Minstrels that are not buffed by stationary TK clerics are not that ubeh.

k got almost 1900 hps with mincer buffed sb went down in about 4 hits actually shit resists warrior was harder but they were both rr1-2 so didnt really stand a chance the warrior did a silly thing by jumping of the wall but still i had just over half hps left after the fight.

secondly buffs make a hell of alot of difference i can take out a skald and warrior if they aint buffed if im unbuffed i dont play because i dont do the damage i need to kill solo.

I dont honestly know what hibs are moaning about they go around in 2fg rvr teams anyway mids latley have just been zerging since 8am in the morning so whats the big deal?

still get seen a mile off by any assasin, still do gimped worse-than-paladin damage - and dds still hit for 120(-80)

only big difference imo will b @ keep takes

kind of a hard stoke for me :)
i play a minstrel of the old gimped style (scarcen.. made him when every1 thougth 20-30 dex really would make you evade more)

so when im MAX buffed i got like 1600 and hit really like a girl on stuff ... max hit would be 120 as i remeber it.

with some friends i have been joking about we wanted Climb wall... meant as a joke ... what i really wanted was some counter to hib groups..

last nigth we had a nice alb group going

1 clr 2 pally 1 theug (air spec) 2 sorc. 1 wiz 1 minser

we encounter a resting hib group ...

double mezz lands on hib group
1 tank comes out of it unmezzed charging the clr.

clr stuns tank... pally's/casters starts nuking tank..

in those 3 sec the druid GP and the bard mezz's half of the group

enchánters puts pet's on our theug.. nuke me and pally's to hell

while the 3 of us try to interupt the 3 healing class's + 2 casters

end of it ? all of us die none from hib group is dead ...

result of it was we moved to odins and zerged it with our alliance..

The hibs played good ... we used all the toys available to us and i didnt see how we could have done it otherwise..

This is what i want a weapon against ... not safefall or clim walls ..

i like to group but im sure i will get loads and loads more rps if i join the stealth zerg....

as it is now i think the alb stealther team is wastly suberior to the other realms ..

why make it stronger ??? TBH i think mystic must be looking at some noob amerikans playing holiday rvr

they should use some time on excalibur....

and btw i think mid's need help on the resist side .. our nukers waste em so bad..

as i see rvr now it is

Hibs>>Albs>>Mids ...

how the hib/mid balance is i dunno

this change sucks.

most thing that pisses me off is that Mins got assasin abilities. Climbing walls, safe fall, distraction and danger sense are in assasin filed of operation...why give them to another class apart from SB, NS and Inf?

include here RvR issues....inability to create mobile stealth groups like in Albion (i can live with this tho)..my poor hunter bretheren with studded armor and evade 2 while mincers got chain and evade 3....

i heard happy mincers' stories on vnboards about how they solo'd a red con mob..."it was easy"....which rogue can reliably kill oranges, not to mention reds (unbuffed ofc, killed a purp shredder once while buffed to teeth) ??

/sigh

i think i'll get see hidden...

No offense, most friars seem to believe this, but infiltrators, scouts and minstrels are (much) better suited for it. Stealth helps a lot.

Amazed how Mythic developed the ability to chose the wrong way every patch they release.
Minstrels needed a review n then complained about they needed more friendly groups abilities, result: they receive new solo focused abilities. Climb walls?? Wish i was a sb/ns, i would love to see a mincer climbing the wall n getting closer of my PA throu wall.
Evade 3??? Ask scouts about the helpfulness of it.......... maybe 1-2 lucky evades in a fight. Ablative chants?? Overpowered, might by the nightmare for other realms if its stackable with ablative tincture (or combined with one of those self-health proccs of the new Royal Armors from Caer Sidi):

You hit <Minstrel> with your axe for 70 damage
A magical chant absorbs 70 damage
<Minstrel> was healed for 150 hit points

<Minstrel> laughs at you


/clap Mythic, you r giving players reasons to find fun elsewhere

I can solo oranges unbuffed. Hell, sometimes I don't get even hit by them. Reds are another matter though, propably need a lot of luck :p

aye... they have 50+11 in instrument and have a lvl 58 pet charmed and spamm their charm button cause else it will aggro the mincer. fighting with pets above lvl 54 negates all loot and exp. wahey.

The funny thing is that you all seem to be surprised by these changes.

Mythic make yet another non-sensical patch change and everyone is up in arms saying, "WTF?!". Even after only 4 months or so of playing this game I am already just rolling my eyes at the new patch changes.

Anyhooooo, I think Mythic have lost the plot on this one. I think it can all be summed up by something I read elsewhere:

WHAT THE FUCK ARE MYTHIC SMOKING?!

I mean, I know this game isn't exactly based in reality (for most of us) but since WHEN have musicians ever done anything stealth based in the course of history? Its not even remotely believable that a mincer would have See-Hidden or be able to climb up keep walls. Why would they? What possible use could it serve? They can't gank casters when they are up there and are more likely to get wasted by the keep guards than anything.

I am getting sick of these stupid changes when there are other more important things to be worked on. I know that mincers needed better stealth but I highly doubt this is what they meant. Mythic should provide a bloody explanation for each of their changes. I want to know WHY they thought it was important that mincers get evade 3 and climb walls etc. I would really like to see the logic behind that one. Sheesh!

Instead of giving Minstrels a group Friendly ablilty they give them yet more reason to go off and solo or at least duo with an infil. Mythic have been either nerfing or giving specify ablities to class'es to make them more group orientated so that when it comes to xp or RvR that ppl naturally go for a group but this is stupid and makes me sick. I cant remember the amount of times I have been waiting at a TK for a minstrel < while still seeing 2 r 3 minstrels use ther buff bots and run off with a infil at mach 5 while are grp reluctanly leaves the TK at theurg speed , at the most > If a minstrel can earn more rps and basically have more fun, running away or stealthing with the approach of a zerg , than grouping up and getting wasted over and over by hibgard. why will they bother to group ? :(

A travelling minstrel was the perfect assassin :) entertain the host, poison his wine.

Head off the next day before the excrement hits the ventilation system.

Minstrel's don't get See hidden (or detect hidden even) all they get is climbing walls and safe fall (and some pve things) - i.e. they're infiltrators that abandoned poisons, crit strike, decent amounts of spec points in order to wear heavier armour and sing silly songs.

Funny, I often get the mental image of a minstrel as a rogue or a trickster who, when not playing an instrument or charming the ladies (or men, for that matter), like the occasional cloak-and-daggers stuff in the shadows. It doesn't feel incongruous to me.
I know that mincers needed better stealth but I highly doubt this is what they meant.
At first glance, it doesn't look like we'll get Detect Hidden, so in other words, See Hidden will still work on us. My own suggestions for stealth fixes would be (a) See Hidden removed, and (b) a special speed-song in stealth.

Also, for my own, this patch will not mean that I will solo more; it will in fact be nice to actually be able to add something semi-unique to the group (the ablative chant). I will definitely be grouping more, not the other way around.

Also bear in mind at 50 my minstrel is roughly on a par in terms of weaponskill / hit points as my level 41 merc, we aren't excatly uber melee people.

One of three possibilities here:
1. The 2 chars sucked.
2. The minstrel was high RR (i.e. 6+) and buffed and the 2 were low RR and unbuffed.
3. All of above.

Your average minstrel is not Alpha, they are not uber tank soloing gods of RvR. An unbuffed minstrel will likely get 3 shotted by a spearo / zerker. :p

I agree, another example of this is bards in the AD&D system, they have bard song, they have some minor magical abilities, and they can sneak and learn various thieving skills, oh and dual wield. ;)

Sol was implying that a pure tank wearing chain/scale had evade 3 - so read his post and my respone and stfu :p

I think its kinda stupid that the minstrels are being overpowered like this, but remember 1.60d is not the final patch and the abilities may be removed, so calm down people....calm down :)

Another thing that really annoys me is the fact that they are still ignoring thanes, ok so the str/con and recastable dd helps, but we are still missing some sort of evade and mcl, amoung other realm abilities.

hmm these changes are REALY good for minstrels but comon,
they arent THAT good

its not like minstrels are gonna go ninja up in those keeps or anything... at worst they will be annying and rezkill or kill casters that are resting after beeing hit with an aoe dot

So true, trying to kill a buffed SB when your unbuffed is impossible, even with avoid pain 2 and purge, maybe if I get IP as well I might stand a small chance :rolleyes:
Killing assasins when buffed is easy though, even if their armor is resistant and mine is vulnerable

I have thinked about these things too and come solutions money and they never play actually this game.

Buffbots, why didnt mythic just put range to buffs like chants...quite easy solution. Nah, they calculated amount of bots, easy money. They even added functionality so dont need daocx anymore, windowed doac's. (correct if im wrong)

Assasins, lost IP and evade capped cause bots. /em depressed

Now these mincer changes, where do u need infil? Without IP,messes,climbwalls,safefall,armor,pets etc, mincer much better. Wondering why didnt they gave detect hidden to same package...dont matter much. I think ppl like Alpha has shown what good player/gear/bot can do with mincer class.

Taking plan B, my zerker. Until they nerf him, dunno what class make then. ;)

infil...
crit strike, higher evade, poisons, dual weild, detect hidden, immune to see hidden. Hmm still seems they have plenty to set them apart from minstrels. :p
