Since its open now i thought i would give it a plug,
It is VERY well done and setup, if not a little expensive (£3.50 for 1 hr, £5 for 3 hrs). You simply sit and off you go into gaming goodness, the leather seats are a nice touch and its all nicely air conditioned :)

It was a little darker than i would have liked personally as i am used to a backlit g15 so i fumbled a bit on unfamiliar games but overall was great fun.

Might go there and have a look!

The website is a bit limited on details though. What games are installed? Can you install any of your own games?

Most importantly... are the pings any better than normal?! :p

I've always wondered, why?

I can get if you don't have a net at home, or only have net access through a REALLY cr*p computer, but otherwise, what's the point?

To play with your friends for a few hours? You could always move your computers together etc etc but this might be a bit easier if you just want to hangout for a few hours.

Ah yeah, if you want that old lan feeling you mean.

Well i guess that's atleast one good enough reason.

I love that feeling at least :-> - And a lot of my "non-geek" friends always want to go play atleast a few times a month.

But yeah I feel a bit stupid after paying for a game I might aswell could of played at home. But as long as I have a good time it is okay.

100mb pings, so whatever you would get on a LAN normally
You cant install your own games, but you can ask i guess

Although there is 100 or so game so you would be pretty hard pressed to not find one you like ><
We just played CS:S, DEFCON, WC3, UT and then went to the xbox's

Went there this afternoon to have a look, it was okay.

There was a reasonable selection of games, however Steam was unusable (I overheard about a lack of licenses?) so this cut it down a bit. The keyboards were Razer Tarantulas, so it's an American style keyboard with Windows set for British layout. The timer screen for the amount of credit on your account was buggy.

As for the place itself, it looked fairly nice. My only other criticisms are that the lights in the toilets are too dark (what is the point of a mirror in there if you can barely see yourself?!), some of the staff were a little bit clueless with guiding new customers. It was also launched a bit early, the bar won't be open for another 2 weeks yet.

It wasn't too bad, however it might be worth waiting a while until some of their teething problems are sorted.
