If we are talking official release (not beta) then it was PL who beat SotL by 20-30 minutes to getting the emblem first, i know i was there :) oh god, im old !!
And if i remember correctly, SotL where created sometime during the afternoon and PL early evening.

Can't remember who it was in beta though, didnt start until the 2nd week in closed beta.

I remember how we did a full on all levels welcome raid in Tepoks to farm the cash for the Emblem. SotL were out doing much the same thing, but we beat them by 20 mins or so because Gideon was offline, I think. Defoe was delighted :p

I am pretty sure that of guilds that were also there in beta, PL was the first.

Guardians of Albion and CoP merged to form Guardians of Power.

No other guilds were involved in this merge.

Najwa was evil, spams like hell with with random intent :twak:

On a side note anyone know if people like Meepthor/Lanceloc from CoP still play?
~Terelith~

I know Meep went and played Hib/Pry for a while not sure if he still plays there. Lance moved to WoW but doesn't play much because he's became a father not too long ago.

^^ Thanks Vlad and Granne, glad to hear that Lanceloc is happy he was a really great guy :). I remember a Granny from CoP?
As regards to Najwa, yes he acted like a prat sometimes, but omfg did he have his funny momentsxD He invented "meight" iirc, or he was the first person i heard saying it.
Think one of the most vivid Flesh stories was when he single handedly (not a word:<) wiped one of the early DR, with his sMiTzOrr.

That might have some of the members of CoP referring to my original cleric called Granne but then again I might be totally wrong cos it's been a long time since CoP was around.

Man those were the days :) Makes me smile to think of all that fun. I don't remember how soon after we got our emblem, I do remember tons of hunting in Tepoks though. (man I hated that place)

I also remember I wasn't on when they designed the cloak, but there was lots of talk on the forums. I was pleasantly surprised to see they did so well *big smile*. And for the record, it was What that chose the purple, not me haha!

(though I still love the emblem :D)

Really is a shame, no matter what game I play now, none will ever really compare to Daoc. I had no idea what a special community you guys were till I moved on. No matter what guild, you will have drama, it just happens. But the brother and sisterhood you share, its unique.

Haha indeed Chodax, indeed my dear friend.

Currently starring in 'Thidranki Nights' as Ivorr Bigun and co-staring Docwolfe as Throbbin Wood the horny Ranger

Haha nice to see the more things change, the more they stay the same :D

Hmm just out of curiosity, I wonder how many people are really still playing Daoc ? (yes I'm toying with the idea)

Aye, I know what you mean. DAoC is hard to replace. Especially since it was my first real MMORPG experience. Since then I tried EVE Online and various fantasy MMORPGs but I kept coming back to DAoC. Mostly because of the many friends I have though. :) I think that unless everyone you know goes to the new game, I doubt it'll be easy to switch.

I love my guildies.

Servers are doing ok right now, much quieter than a year ago of course but there has been a small population recovery over the last couple of months. Clustering should help things along nicely as well, I only came back to duo with Doc while he is home from Uni but I have really enjoyed myself since we rolled new chars on Hib/Excal. I wouldn't say the game has had a whole new lease of life for me but I think I am playing for the right reasons again rather than just killing time and I am actually enjoying the game for the first time in a long while.

He popped into DAoC just before christmas, was still playing SWG at that time but was getting bored. Said he might try WoW, have tried emailing him but the address I have is 4 years old so I am not sure whether he can pickup from that address anymore :(
