Have a rather frugal christmas, and a missus who's not impartial to fat italian plumbers called Mario, I've decided to fork out for an N64.

So far, I have:

2 Controllers, the console itself, Mario 64, Rayman 2, Star Wars Racer: Episode 1, F1 Grand Prix and Turok Dinosaur Hunter.

Now, as this is for my missus, and not me, I was wondering what games to get her?

Also, is it worth getting the controller memory 'pak' or the console memory 'pak'?

Was thinking maybe of purchasing Zelda, as i think she liked it on the SNES but my memory is a bit fuzzy.

Any help would be appreciated

Ocarina of Time is probably the best game on N64. Goldeneye is good but maybe not for girls.

Iirc the memory pak for the console was an expansion that allowed you to run games at a higher res. Perfect Dark used this. You saved games on the cartridges or the controller memory paks.

Because the n64 cost 20 quid and the games cost about 10 quid :p

When you're 500 quid in debt, christmas is such a bitch sometimes.

(and yes, i know some people have it off worse, but when its the first time you've ever been in debt its quite worrying)

Munkey, have you heard of Emulators? :p

Project64 ftw ;)

I would recommend a Mario Party game though, it's great fun multiplayer. You also want Mario Kart, or Snowboard Kids 1 or 2. I prefer Snowboard Kids 1, more fun than Mario Kart in most cases, really underrated and relatively unknown game.

Meh, N64 gaming went in this order:

Goldeneye, Super Smash Brothers, Zelda, Lylat Wars (for MP fun).

Mario Kart was poo on the 64 compared to others.

If you really want something for your missus, then get her a DS, you can get them fairly cheap second hand.

It doesn't amtter what you buy, allthough like other women she will shortly swoon over the red or green overall wearing perverts, when she sees that you bought a F1 grand prix, she'll KNOW what you allready do, this gift ain't for her and you're just buying stuff for yourself on the excuse of "being a giving man" :D

First time I saw WoW on a mates machine I said "is that Banjo Kazooie?".

Now it's become a running joke to refer to WoW as Banjo Kazooie ;)

Get her Harvest Moon. My sister loved that. You just run a farm and that. It's a piece of piss.
