The TRS-80 Color Computer 1980 was the first computer i ever had, ah bless only 6 at the time, and you would spend an age typing in a huge 20 page program for the most basic text adventure.

Amstrad 286

I was working as a lifeguard at the time I purchased my first computer. Felt totally adrift in the intellectual department and took to writing short stories. The computer was bought to help with my spelling errors with a manual typewriter. Started playing games on the Amstrad such as the 'Eye of the Beholder' and was totally hooked. I couldn't sleep and would play the damn game all night. Ruined my fitness but provided so much stimulation. In one way I hate computers but in another I love them. No way could I get so much stimulation from 'life' or even a relationship. Hate to say this but most of life's experiences are damn well boring but working on a comp? Never a dull moment. After bashing computer keys for 15 yrs or more I still get immense enjoyment and stimulation from them. There are not enough hours in the day for me and I still know very little about them! So much more to look forward to!

My (and Deebs) first was the ZX Spectrum, i remember writing up programs for ages from 'Your Computer' magazine, that never worked. I even had the Micro-Drive for it and a shitty thermal printer, Haa Haa, it was crap

I was on a job the other day and the customer had moved all the shit out of his loft into his garage, and sat on top of one of the open boxes was a pristine ZX80, i was looking at it in awe. My mate who i work with is younger than me and didn't know what it was, i went into the 'How can you not know what a ZX80/81 is......' type of rant, he just shrugged his shoulders, kids Huh
