Yes, you may be thinking that already, but the following might confirm this:

September 11 2001, big terrorist attack, USA
March 11 2004, big terrorist attack, Spain

Both are apparently exactly 6 months apart in terms of the time of year they took place.

The timespan between the two events appears to be 911 days.

Now I'm a big believer in coincidences, but its certainly quite a coincidence if true, don't you think?

If I were "Miscillanious Terrorist Organisation" I'd probably pick on obscure date coincidences like that just for the hell of it, so while I don't doubt you beng right, I severely doubt there's anything more to it than a sick sense of humour and a calculator.

Read a thing today that said that some groups affiliated to Al Qaeda place some importance in numerology. One of the theories was about the flight from the UK to Washington that kept getting cancelled. It was Flight 223. United Nations Resolution 223 attacks Israeli treatment of Palestinians in the Occupied Territories and condems the Israeli settlements in the West Bank as "illegal" and "an obstacle to peace".

if you cut your finger and need an ambulance so you dont die you must call for them

the number is 911 in america! OMGS!£"$

also if you are counting up from, say, number 1 but only saying the odd numbers you will say "9, 11"

OMGS ?

Im pretty sure Porsche made a 911, maybe its a sign?

erm...Tom, why are you putting 17/1/05 in your calendar? Your "math" makes no sense. It's been 2.5 years since 11th Sep 2001. Another 2.5 years would take us to 11th Sep 2006.

:eek6:

Shovel, if I were a "Miscillanious Terrorist Organisation" then I'd learn to spell.

:D

Unless, of course, the terror you're unleashing is your spelling - then carry on.

:p

I can confirm Mazling's figure for this. A friend elsewhere 'pointed out' the 911 days thing, and I just had to check, quick bit of perl later, et voila. Anyone saying 911 days is probably forgetting 29th Feb 2004.

Actually I'm not sure what calendar these extremist morons follow, I merely fed the two dates through some script and tried to get a good joke in.

Damn my shallowness.

surely it doesn't matter what calendar they follow, there's a definite number of days that have passed since 9/11...

does it really matter how much days has passed, 9/11/2001 and 3/11/2004 isn't that enough proof that the persons who did the 11th march bombing had 9/11 in their minds, it doesnt really matter wether it was 911 days or 20000 2.5 years exactly is enough evidence that the person who probably intended the act to be linked with the one of 9/11?

Added to the fact they actually admitted to it....

Well, the admission didn't come from Bin Laden or one of his officers, instead it was a guy who claims he's Al-Qaeda's European Military Spokesman... Bin Laden didn't need an American spokesperson when they attacked the twin towers so investigators are looking into a connection with Al-Qaeda but continue to strongly suspect Eta of involvement.

If it was Al-Qaeda then the report I just read on the BBC News (here) stating Spain might withdraw it's troops in Iraq is a blow to the world.

If terrorism can be shown to have the reaction the terrorists want we are on a losing slope :(.

That's like a few years after my date of birth and I'm also like a few years older than you. It can't be a coincidence can it ?

OMG, Wij posted the above at 10:13, which was BEFORE the time now, 10:15!! And if you add all the digits in 10:13 up you get 5, which is the same as the number at the end of the clock in my system tray...

Dunno about that. Spain as looking at it as a nation. If they hadn't supported the invasion of Iraq, this might not have happened. 90% (figure stolen from BBC News) of Spain was against the invasion, yet the president still supported it. Also, the example of Israel, and the tit-for-tat violence going on there, shows that making martyrs does not lead to an end for terrorism.

It's a different path to take. Whether it is the correct one to take is open to a lot of debate.

Removing Hussein from Iraq means that the country will decrease as breedingpool for terrorists (hussein might not have had links with al qaeda, but probably did have with others). However keep killing the palestinians and you will just create terrorists. What UK,Spain,USA,etc is doing in Iraq isnt the same as what is happening in Isreal.

But yes you do get terrorists against you by helping out Iraq. However Al Qaeda wants all western influences gone from the middle east if I remember correctly and I doubt we could do that (and certainly shouldnt imo). And if we dont remove every contact with middle east, than Al Qaeda will most likely still keep attacking western countries. Besides that as long as we are wealthier than the middle east they will have a reason to hate us.

Most Qataris hate the british. But its not because you're richer, you're actually poorer than them with Qatar being the richest country in the world, but because of what you did out here during you colonial period.

Infact most of the arab countries are very rich indeed out here.

Just correcting it :p
