Actually I've got it working ok, I'm gonna do the trick later of keeping the win2k boot menu though, I dunno why but prefer it.

Although it does have to be said that when being forced to use Mozilla 0.9.2 you suddenly realise that your hatred for Internet Explorer disappears rather quickly

Currently have Disc 1 & 2 of RH 7.2 iso's and also the SRPM disc 1 & 2.

seriously tho, backup, make a winxp rescue, do whatever you need to do. it isn't stupid to be safe mate.

No but remember I have 2x20GB(Raid0) currently hold W2K then the RH will go on a 30Gb attached to IDE1. Should go all right, what about booting?

hmm, guessing now [as this is rather depending on what your BIOS tells rh] but your raid will prolly be hdc [but it could also be sda [depending on the raid control telling the bios lies or not as ti it pretending to be a scsi device] and your ide1 will prolly be hdb
linux defines primary master, pslave, sec master, secslave as hda, hdb, hdc and hdd. external devices [ie drives, cdroms etc that are not attached to ide0 or ide1] can screw this order up a bit [or not heh]
fun isn't it?
a primary partition on the ide0 master will normally be called hda1
the second logical partition on the ide1 slave will be called hdd6 [as the first partition in the logical partition is 5, it jumps 1-5,6,7 etc]
you grab?

I've got it set so it boots off the ATA133-RAID first, ib the BIOS that is.

ps. if you really want to be safe, disconnect the raid and install to the single drive a few times to get the feel :)

btw....just stick the first rh disk in your cdrom and boot of of it...after a bit you'll be presented with a nice grafical disk set up thingy iirc. one look at that will tell you exactly what your disk config looks like. it will look a bit like a grafical version of fdisk. you can't miss it. as lons as you don't press the write the new config to disk, finalise all changes and install redhat [or whatever it's called] button nothing will happen to your rig :)

Wouldn't even install on mine. P3 500, BX motherboard, Rage Fury graphics card. Hardly an unpopular combination.
