i mean wtf do people want, rewrite history to be more PC? stupid sods, you get people from different walks wanting just representation and we can do that now, we can't go back in time and redo what was done lol, the idotic nature of people never fails to amuse (and bemuse) me.

"Clint Eastwood made two films about Iwo Jima that ran for more than four hours total, and there was not one Negro actor on the screen," Lee said. "If you reporters had any balls you'd ask him why. There's no way I know why he did that ... But I know it was pointed out to him and that he could have changed it. It's not like he didn't know."

I was unaware of a "minimum black men per hour" speedlimit on films?

I wonder if there is a "minimum white men per hour" speed limit as well? If so the crosby's and the fresh prince of bel air better watch out!!!

Its all mad, the fact that he's taking notice of how many people of whatever colour skin are in per however many hours of film means that he's the one being racist because he is the one making an issue out of something based on skin colour.

GRRR RARR lemme at 'em! :twak: :touch:

yep its like these socalist twats who discriminate against people because of their education/background i.e. boris johnson for being an etonian and david cameron for being a "toff"; since when has it ever been ok to use something like that against someone? if they were from lowerclass backgrounds and these same remarks were made against them there would be a bloody outcry.

i love these right on reformists who (shock horror) it turns out are actually far more racist and prejudiced than any of their so called opressers.

Apparently, you can only be a black man to create a film with all black actors... its call Blackstploitation.
A white man can create a film with just white actors and he's a racist.
A man can create a film without a strong female character and he's a sexist.

A black man ca create a film with white men in it, and its fine. A white man can create a film with black men in and its fine. A man can create a film with women in them as long as they are strong female characters... and get one scene with their kit off.

Welcome to Hollywood, leave your common sence at home.

Spike Lee is a bit too far up his own arse, if he's going to critisis film makers who use too few/no black actors, then he can fucking well take the critique against his films where white men are always the bad guys.

He should have a go at Mel Gibson for not having more Black Guys in the line up of scotsmen in Bravehart during the battle scene's.

Don't get me wrong, I like Spike Lee's work, but I do think the mans some closet fucking Racist at times.

Spike Lee is still stuck in the 1970's. Spike, dude: no one gives a shit about the Panthers anymore. Have a glass of reality and stop looking for racism where none was intended.

I think it was "Not another teen movie" which nailed this one as it should be, in which the black guy of the school finds another black guy in the kitchen during a party and gets really angry, telling him that he is the token black guy of the movie and the other just nod understandingly and says something like "my mistake!" and leaves.

So stupid that you have to be so political correct as to include atleast 1 person of every skin colour or someone is going to call you a racist bastard for it... Just like, I think it was maddox of thebestpageintheuniverse.com that pointed out once that black people are represented X times as often in commercials as their population % justifies (i.e. 10% of the population getting 50% of the exposure screams of favourism/reversed racism)

Nah, star trek had its own formula.
Remember, never wear a red shirt, and make sure you have a first AND last name.
Jordie was the token HUMAN black man.

But isn't it a bit ironic to say that though, thinking about it, do tell if i'm wrong.

"Celebrities shouldn't be given attention", is attention towards the issue right?

Weird just all :D

Imagine a world where celebrities were given as much media attention as the ordinary person. No more opening up a magazine and finding 400 pictures of posh spice showing off her new range of sexy panties for the over 60s

Exactly.

But it's the same with Olga trying to get people to ignore dori, he has to get some attention towards the issue.

And it's not celebrities that should be ignored, just these silly remarks from Spike Lee.

I just don't like the reaction here when people start shouting 'fuck PC people' and start random sarcastic remarks about black have to be represented here and there.

But in the end I guess there is nothing you can do about it really, at least not when it's coming from a celebrity...

Yeah, get your point. Then again, if it only comes from celebrities(as it does) and one has to be a in the spotlight to be a celebrity, so to speak, it's kinda hard to avoid i guess.

Bit off topic but anyone seen "Flag of our Fathers"?
Seen the film from the Japanese perspective "Letters from Iwo Jima" well worth a watch, though the handgrenade scene has to rival anything other more well known war films have, in terms of being disturbing. Just wondering if its worth trying to get hold of the other.
